  1. We went to Punta Cana, DR Dec 6-16, flying out of Toronto and on our return my wife and I received an email from TTP/Nexus stating there was a message in our account.  We logged on and were informed our status for our Nexus renewal had been changed from interview pending to approved.  Our new cards arrived yesterday and today and both have been activated.

  2. We renewed our Nexus last year and this July, both of us were conditionally approved pending an interview.  We went to Punta Cana, DR, Dec 6-16 and last week we received emails from TTP/Nexus stating our status changed to fully approved. We can start using the benefits of Nexus once our new cards have been issued.

  3. We visit Santa Margherita and the Celebrity site states we are docked. Can anyone confirm if the ship can dock in the small port, do they use tenders or do we dock in Genoa? We are deciding on a self walking tour or a ship tour.

  4. We are booked on a 19 night Med cruise Sept 2023 and would like opinions on what currency to use for tipping on board. The ship will be using US$ and the countries we are visiting will be in Euros.  Should we tip in US$ so crew can purchase items on board or send money home or Euros to purchase items ashore.

  5. We have been to Bermuda 3 times, only once on a cruise out of Bayonne, NJ. We sailed on a small Celebrity ship and were able to spend 2 nights in Hamilton and 2 in St George's. They even moved our mopes from port to port. It is a great place to visit and is unlike cruising the Caribbean. The Swizzle Inn is a must for first time visitors.

  6. If we wanted to take the ferry from Salerno to Amalfi and return would it be best to purchase our tickets in advance or buy them at the booths on the respective docks? Our ship arrives in Salerno May 30 and from what I have been reading, this time of year is outside the 'busy tourist time'.

  7. Yes. It stops both ways.

Where do you buy return tickets for the ferry in Positano and Almalfi, are there booths on the pier? I note you can purchase online ahead of time, but wasn't sure if you want to take an earlier or later ferry if the ticket is good for that exact time or all day.

    Thanks.

  8. I have not see Salerno on an itinerary -- is this a larger 'popular' cruise line or one of the smaller luxury lines? Also, do any of the larger cruise ships go along the Amalfi coast?

    Thank you

The Vision of the Seas will be stopping in Salerno May 30 as part of a 12 night cruise from Barcelona.

  9. We arrive in Civitavecchia May 29 and want to see the Palatine area near the Forum and our thinking is to take the train from Civitavecchia around 8 am to the Roma Termini and walk 30 minutes to Palatine. We would buy return tickets to avoid 2 line ups. Does anyone have any other suggestions.

  10. We are looking at the options of the various transfers from the Barcelona port to the airport (BCN). So far we have looked at the cruise line transfer (NCL), private car, shared minibus, or taxi. Our flight is 2 pm on a Sunday so we don't have to rush off the ship. We are looking at taking our time and maybe getting a taxi around 9:30-10:00. I see the cost for a taxi is now 39 Euro. We'd be interested to hear what people have selected.

  11. Seems a small bit high, but not over the top. Without exact dates, can't give you solid numbers, but Venice is a pretty expensive airport to fly into. Looking at some random dates, and putting in some stops, I am seeing as low as $1115. Non stops can add lots of $$$ in some cases.

I would have asked this on the Cruise Air board, where there are MANY experts, and lots of info on the "when is the best time to buy" question.

Can you provide the link to the Cruise Air Board, I couldn't find it.

    Thanks,
