I bought 100 shares a couple of weeks ago at £8.54 per share plus costs and tax. Have three 14 day cruises booked for the next15 months providing things stay as they are I should get £450 obc. Yes I realised there was a risk, but one I could afford to lose the costs.

Hi.   We have two 14 nights cruises booked for September and December.   If I now buy shares would I be able to get on board credit or do I have to own shares before I book.    Thanks

  2. Perseverance pays off.   I have now received my full future cruise credit after an email to Paul Ludlow's office who instructed an investigation.   Credit was in my peninsular account within three weeks but no indication as to what had caused the situation.   Still I’m happy but will not book with the TA again

  3. I just  wondered if anyone else was experiencing same problem.   Other cruisers we met on isolation have advised that they have received the FCC they expected some having booked direct WITH P&O and others through.   TA    I don’t think TA can’t help it’s a question of how much they are doing to help.   P&O  even though they could nit discuss finances did mention it was calculated on how much they were paid bY TA so that concerns me a bit

  4. We were in a back to back cruise on Iona from 5th March till 2nd April.  We were tested on the Friday before arriving  back in Southampton after first leg and we’re negative.   However because a number of guests tested positive they had to get off at southampton.   We were the called for a test on the Monday and my husband tested positive.   We had not been off the ship, since the first test.   I then tested positive after a few days and we had to isolate until the end of the cruise 11 days .  It wasn’t easy  as others will know my husband is 81.  Only positive was that we would receive FCC  based on the price we paid divided by 14 x 11.

when we returned I received an email from P&O Peninsular advising my FCC which to my calculation is around £500 each less than I anticipated.     P&O won’t speak to me about financial details as,I booked through a TA.  They instructed me to get the TA to contact them.   I have spent hours by phone and by chat trying to get this sorted out.  The last I heard was

We are currently waiting for P&O to provide us with new invoiuces as they have informed us that they adjusted your fares on the back to back cruise due to the isolation.”

We have invoices from TA and P&O  stating we paid £3330 for the second leg including 10% discount.  I am getting nowhere and just want the FCC I am entitled to.

    can anyone help

  5. I thought long and hard about your comments before commenting myself. I would point out all your comments and maybe my replies.

My Checkin appeared quite chaotic. One lady very rude. Next lady moaned as though it was your fault having only one boarding card. We have never been given one boarding card per person.

Cabin neighbours blaring music etc. And you were quite right complaining.

Muster delayed. If you had been delayed for any reason would you want them to carry on without you. Go with the flow, enjoy the time exploring the ship and go back to cabin and collect life vests when required.

Muster chaos because your card isn't scanned to tick you off the list. There is no intimation that this is required. Maybe it happens on other lines but not p &'o and all instructions are given Well in advance of what is required.

Unhappy that you were blasted for calling it a booze cruise when you intimated that it would be. Probably for the hen and stag parties but not for everyone and you can always choose to be in different areas. There are always quiet places

Neighbours smoking. Glad you reported them

Asked to leave planet bar because you were wearing shorts after 6 pm. Sorry but as you seem to know so much about p & o rules you should have been aware of this one.

Shambolic check in and muster process . Getting around the ship needs a little work and doesn't flow too well but you have paid a deposit for, another cruise. What were the positives

Diabolical dinner experience, rude staff and rip offs in bar.

Glass house looks tatty and worn, sorry but that's my experience!!

    11. Meridian door host and member of staff on reception were rude and very dismissive!!

We Have never encountered a rude member of staff but many rude passengers.

    12. Glass house isn't tatty but planet bar chairs definitely are !!

What changed your mind about glasshouse and are you really checking out the chairs

    13. At least P & O sent coaches to Bruges railway station to assist with the problem. But then this didn't affect you as you had already left but others had not but the result of the delay caused the great British sailaway to be rained off. P & O fault weather wise ??

    14. Freedom dining was shambles and utter mess

    15. Totally agree about getting to know people (but we normally eat alone) ??? but get to know staff. Sounds as though staff were rushed off their feet serving never mind chatting. How often do you expect conversation between restaurant staff at home

    16. Reservations for freedom dining ? no sir that's why it is called freedom dining - quite appropriate in my view

    17. Set sitting you could be sitting with lovely people or not so lovely people. It is your choice. We prefer to eat alone like you

    18. Design of Verona and Venezia buffets terrible. Drinks not as cheap on P & O after all as other ships give you better deals. Wine is a good deal +++. Being asked if you want another drink is only an irritation and not a moan

    19. Your problems with black tie event. One person being given a jacket. On our first P & O cruise we didn't realise you needed a jacket on certain nights and we were turned away. Fair enough to keep to rules but perhaps as this was a two night cruise they didn't want to ruin the man's cruise. Did this happen to many more people

All in all you have also made positive comments and at times you did seem to enjoy yourself and you did look very dashing In your photo but on a two day cruise and over twenty long comments I would say you perhaps spent your cruise looking for negatives to prove your points. Still I hope you do enjoy your next P & O cruise

  6. Why would people not want to go to their cabin first and drop of their hand luggage which was a nuisance to drag through buffet area and inconvenience other passengers.. With regard to making public areas bigger etc. [emoji31][emoji33][emoji36]

  7. On our embarkation on Azura on 8 April I did mention about the problems. We had priority for the first time and may I say to those posters who think it is unfair for those to have priority boarding, wait till you have done as many cruises as we have and you might think 'well we might enjoy a little bit extra' and our friends on their second cruise with P & O did not. The whole terminal was full and p & o staff had great difficulty trying to direct cruisers to waiting areas and advising them of the available seating areas. Obviously having to queue is not the first instance of a happy holiday as at our age we get quite frustrated whether it is at airports, cruises or any other holidays so I would say to p & o keep everyone happy at embarkation by whatever means. I realise it is not easy and what they want is for everyone when they get on the ship is for them to get access to cabins so that they can then leave their hand luggage and then go to the buffet which is not full of passengers with luggage and have a nice lunch which is open all afternoon. And all those other higher tiers including us are in one of the restaurants waiting in a big queue for our lunch. We would probably have been quicker in the buffet. Still we enjoyed and would return [emoji568][emoji568][emoji568]

  8. I agree with all those sentiments. It is a holiday where you feel safe. We are just back from Azura and thought we would look for something different for a change in June . Try and find a holiday that comes with all that is offered by a cruise and it is very difficult so now searching cruises again. Like you Jeanlyon and many others we love everything about cruising, visiting a different port every day or sea days just lazing on the balcony or deck 7. To every other poster We have done many cruises and can honestly say we have never encountered a surly waiter. Maybe one or two are not smiley (maybe a family problem back home or some other problem - would anyone be happy serving thousands of people. 365 days a year and still look happy (and most of them do )but they' are there to serve you not to entertain you. How do you react to surly service at home which in my mind is much more of a problem hence the reason I love the service on the ship.

Menus on Azura were new and food we found to be lovely and with very hot plates, , grouse, pheasant, goose, and other new items. Anyway. Anyone about to sail on a P & O ship you will have a wonderful time [emoji41]

  9. When you check into a hotel it is usually 2 or 3 pm so do you go earlier and wait. I know if you have to arrive in Southampton earlier then you just want to go to the port as we did when we flew from Scotland and arrived at Around 12.00. Fortunately we had priority booking but our friends didn't and they had to wait until the allocated 3.30. What I did notice was at the disability check in when one person on his motability scooter checked in with his wife the other six members of his party were also able to check in via the disability check in the same time.. I just wonder why livinforcruisin it took, three cruises on Britannia before you realised you wouldn't do another one. We cruised on Brittannia in December and loved it. What I don't understand is why all the complaints and you all keep returning

  10. Bad food, not enough Stilton, surly waiters not being able to chat, cabin stewards not saying hello while passing in the corridors. I have never experienced any of these in all of our cruises with P & O. You have other choices

  11. Call me a P & O cheerleader if you like but we have been on other cruise lines, RCI, Princess and Cunard and the only time I have encountered rudeness from a waiter was on the Queen Mary. Imagine any first time cruiser reading all this negativity and wondering if they have made a mistake booking with P &O. Let me assure them they will receive first class service that they never encounter at home. Everyone from cabin stewards to the captain are extremely pleasant. Food is not Michelin star but then it's not meant to be. Some meals are better than others but always a good choice. I notice no complaints about being able to take alcohol on board, cheaper drink prices than on US lines, no 15% additional charge to drinks, cheaper gratuities. So maybe I am a P & O cheerleader after all. On another note we have just received our embarkation time of 3.30 which is fine by us so we intend to have a lunch in the local Wetherspoons as it seems that it might be the only good meal we will have for the forthcoming seventeen days [emoji41][emoji41][emoji41]

  12. Would agree. The service you receive is first class and worth every penny or pound. If you can afford thousands of pounds for a cruise what is an extra few pounds. £5 a day per person. Cheaper then a glass of wine. Not much to us but a lot to the staff.x

  13. Hi Andy i was going to suggest flying. We are going on the AZura on 8th April and flying from Glasgow to Southampton. Return flights were around £80 plus £40 for luggage and times are good but you may already have booked the train. We normally drive stopping off at relatives overnight but thought we would give flying a chance as when we did a short cruise on AZura last year, taking family, we drove down with all,the luggage and son wife and three kids flew down and it was ideal for them. As everyone else has said, you will love it.
