  1. I just love this site! We booked the drive/walk tour last night and cancelled our car rental.

If anyone else is on the POA on Sept 2nd, Kaui Photo tours is looking for 2 additional people for this tour.

They will pick up at the pier 10:30 am $30 additional for pick up and drop off.

We also booked the drive/walk tour with them and will cancel our car rental. This will be on November 24, 2017 (day after Thanksgiving) as they are closed on Thanksgiving. The tour will start at 7:00 AM and will end at 12:30 PM at the cruise ship. For this tour on November 24, 2017 to go through, we need at least 1 more person to join the tour.

  2. As an alternative to the train - We did a Viator all day castles tour that visited Kronborg, Frederiksborg, and Fredensborg. It was an excellent tour. I booked online. The next day we visited the two castles in the city on our own, complete with a picnic in the gardens outside Rosenborg Castle. Wonderful castle experiences! The Viator tour allows good time at each castle and provides a lunch (extra$.)

    Good to know. Thank you.

  3. I would group Kronborg and Louisiana on one trip as it is on the same railwayline.

Kronborg is at the end of the line at Helsingør and Louisiana is located near Humlebæk station 4 stops before Helsingør.

With the metro from your hotel (Kongens Nytorv) and change of train at Nørreport to a Øresundstog towards Helsingør, it will take between 46 and 48 minutes to Helsingør and 10 minutes less to Humlebæk.

Departure from Nørreport on XX:15, XX:35 and XX:55.

    How to find Louisiana.

Kronborg is way easier to find.

Frederiksborg and Fredensborg will then be another trip.

Again change from metro to train at Nørreport, take S-train line A towards Hillerød and get off in Hillerød.

Again the travel time is in the 45-47 range and 3 minutes longer in the weekend.

Trains every 10th minute from Nørreport.

Or bus 301 Ullerød Ålholmparken or bus 302 Sophienlund Sophienborg, both busses stops at Frederiksborg Slot Slangerupgade.

When you get to Fredensborg you need to get the train from Hillerød to Helsingør, Fredensborg is located midway.

You get home either by taking the train to Snekkersten (or Helsingør) and then the Øresundstog back to Copenhagen or back to Hillerød and take the S-tog Line A back to Copenhagen.

And Finally Roskilde (and the viking ship museum I presume).

Again the metro to Nørreport is your friend but instead of taking a northbound train you are instead heading south.

Travel time is between 37 and 43 minutes and on a random Wednesday in april i get 8 hourly departures.

Trains heading for Roskilde, Holbæk, Kalundborg, Nykøbing F, Esbjerg, Sønderborg are all got to go.

Trains heading for the airport or Sweden (Malmö, Gothenburg, Karlskrona, Kalmar etc) are a no go.

I hope that was all :D

Excellent! Thanks so much, Danish Viking!

  4. Hello Danish Viking,

I am now re-posting my note from an old thread after GradUT alerted me to this new one.

You have been very helpful to all on CC. I would appreciate your advice on the following:

We will be arriving on a Saturday, 7 May, and will need to go to AC Hotel Bella Sky. We plan to purchase the 24-hour city pass (80 DKK) to use. This is the route we plan to take: Take the DSB line from the airport to Orestad and then take M1 from Orestad to Bella Center to get to AC Hotel Bella Sky.

The next day to get to Oceankaj, we plan to take M1 from Bella Center, get off at Kongens Nytorv to take Bus 26 and then transfer to Bus 27 at Osterport.

Do these routes look fine to you? Are there better routes?

Thanks in advance for your help!

This is very helpful! Thank you, Danish viking. I now would like to ask you about the best way to get to Hillerød, Helsingør, and Roskilde. We would like to visit Kronborg castle, Frederiksborg castle, and Frendensborg castle. In addition we would like to see the Louisiana Museum. After the cruise (ends on a Tuesday), we will stay an additional 3 nights in the Nyhavn area. We plan to use the Copenhagen card. In what order should we do these visits to these places and what is the best route?

    Looking forward to your response.

  6. Hello Danish Viking,

  7. Kristiansand is a neat little town in a beautiful area along the southern coast of Norway. When we were there last summer we took a bus to Hollen and a one hour boat trip through some of the most scenic stretch of islands. We were back in Kristiansand by about noon where we spent some time shopping and sight seeing. Indeed there is a small beach, but keep in mind it is not like Hawaii.

For details you might have a look at http://www.********.com/Norway2.html

Any way you do it, you will enjoy this port. If you want more information you can contact the tourist office there. Let me know if you want details.

    Hello Lair Bear,

We will be going to Kristiansand in May on a HAL cruise. Thank you for the information on Hollen. Where was the local tourist office that you went to? Was that close to the cruise terminal? Is there a website where one can find information on the bus and boat trip?

    Many thanks in advance.
