  1. I loved this last price drop on the summit. I went from inside cabin to a veranda at no additional charge! We booked this 12 months out when we felt prices were low. Happened to catch when it was reduced. 3 hours later pricing was back up

  2. The beers have moved to the wine cellar up on the 5th floor in the back. They do not have as many but a good choice to drink from. I had a premium drink package so I did not need to worry too bad as there were beers I did not have to pay for. They open at about 5 pm I think. I was on for 3 weeks this October. Olga was the great server back there.

  3. I use my credit card that gives me 3X the rewards points. I then pay it off as soon as we get back from the cruise. My card has given me many vouchers in dollars that I use to pay for the next cruise. My card is issued by my Travel Agency and also Emergency Road Service Provider that's over 100 Years Old.

  4. On the Summit in over the May 21, 2014 cruise it was $4 plus the 15% service tip for a total of 4.60. In October of 2013 it was $3 plus the 15% service ti for a total 3.45. That was for a single scoop. They did add in the "sandwiches" which was nice.

  5. Thanks for the information...when & where do we pay?

you pay before parking cash or credit card i heard that parking has gone to $20 a day but it is a bargain compared to New York.

  6. Are there any helpful hints that you may share as to the logistics of parking the day of sailing?

I read somewhere that my husband can drop me off with our luggage while he takes the car to the parking area

    Please advise

    Thanks

Very easy to park. You will pull up to the big tents were the porters will take your luggage (and be looking for tips) and you can wait right there. Your husband will drive maybe 500 foot and will be directed to the parking lot where he will park and walk over and meet you. In May of this year took no more than 5 minutes. Have a great cruise!

  7. Hi we always order wine in the cabin. Does anyone know of any nice wines offered? Thanks in advance,Kathi

You are allowed to carry on 2 bottles per stateroom. If your not flying in the the port makes it nice. If you enjoy it anyplace other than your room they want to charge you a corkage fee. If you buy it from them or it is a gift when you board I believe they do not charge.

  8. I hope you do not mind answering another question....

I have read on here about changes to what is included in the drink packages (only on ships overseas though).

Did you happen to have the classic package?

If not, any insight to increases in drink prices and/or more exclusions as to what is included in the classic package?!

    TIA!

I did see some price increases in drinks from last October till this May but I had upgraded to the premium drink package and enjoyed many different wines at dinner and never had to worry about which beer I grabbed at a bar.

I had originally upgraded to enjoy michaels club but found out before boarding that they had converted it to a private lounge. Did not miss it at all. The wine cellar on the 5th floor had a listing of some cart beers and ciders but had limited stock. Also the bar tender there was upset and kept telling people this was a wine bar. Guess he could not read his own menu. Only bar I had bad service in....

  9. On the Celebrity Website it lists the time of arrival in Bayonne, NJ from Bermuda as 7:00 AM. However, on the Celebrity newsletter that I saw dated 05/25 it listed the arrival at 8:00 AM. Could someone please tell me what time is correct as I need to let the person know that is picking me up. Thanks.

We just got off the summit on May 25th. We were docking at 7:00 am and they started to unload us at 7:30 am. My wife and I carried our bags off and were through customs and in my truck headed home at 8:00 am. They do a great job.

I did notice that not much luggage had been off loaded yet at that time so if you want them to take your luggage off they stage the time out. I think it was till 9:30 ? There is spots at the port you driver can park and wait till you call them. There is about a 1/4 mile road you are driving in to the port that you can pull over and wait.

We love the summit and will be back on it for a 4th time on oct.

  10. I was on the same cruise (Summit Oct 19 repositioning cruise from NJ to San Juan) and found the Select Dining to be far better than Blu. We switched over from Blu to the MDR and did select and found service to be great. We were seated in the same area all 5 nights and had the same staff wait on us. Service was very quick with Jorge as our Waiter, Samantha as the Bar Person and able to keep our drinks filled for us.

We ate at Bistro on 5 2 times and both times we timed it right before they got busy. Food very good.

Doug Cameron was onboard and did a show which was excellent (this is the second time we have seen him on the Summit)

We are booked on the Summit in May of 2014 and also a B2B in Oct 2014 and counting the days down till we are back.

  11. My Wife and I just returned from the Summit repositioning cruise. We had upgraded to the Aqua class so that we could eat in Blu. We would not do that again. We felt the food was very bland and after the second night we switched to select dining in the MDR and enjoyed that so much better! We felt that Blu's service was poor as they messed up on my food order twice, had too wait for service and the Host just did not care. The host at the MDR actually stopped us on the way out one night as he was concerned something was wrong as we were not in the dining room very long (we ate in about 35 minutes). We have 3 more booked on the Summit and will stick with MDR and use select dining.
