Welcome to Day 4 of our cruise! This morning was the chocolate breakfast in the main dining room. That is always a good way to start the day. :D
The ship was still having a little trouble with the satellite reception. Both of the ESPN channels and CNN are off of the TV.
I signed up at the“Next Cruise” desk to book a cruise. They told me their system is down, too, and they hoped it would be available by our afternoon time. [it wasn't]
There were a number of activities going on on day 4. Some were a little silly [JMHO] like the Egg Drop Challenge, The Wettest Link Contest and the Thriller Dance class. There was also a scrapbook class, a 3 on 3 soccer game and informal bridge play. The movies today are Going in Style at the Cinema and Ghost in the Shell on the poolside screen.
Here are a few more pictures from around the ship:
While many ships have gotten rid of their libraries or reduced them to a book nook, the Radiance has a nice library. The book collection is a little limited, but the room is nice.
One thing I have noticed is the emphasis on safety in thepools. I already mentioned the lifeguards by each of the pools. There is a lifeguard stand next to the towel exchange. There are at least 2 racks of life preservers for the children and these signs are located in several places on deck 11.
I had not seen these before.
We were on for 2 weeks in August and these signs as well as a yellow chain/stansions around the pool appeared the 2nd week.

Many people will be doing the exact same thing you are, no worries.

The deck plans show Rita's Cantina. Is it Mexican for the Alaska cruises, or do they change it to the Crab Shack?

It's neither now, just seating for the windjammer and a bar.

Vision did over New Years

My husband, my two boys and myself are sailing on Saturday on Vision of the Seas. It is the 7 night Western Carribean stopping at Roatan, Honduras; Belize City, Belize; Costa Maya, Mexico; and Cozumel, Mexico.
Is there anything anyone would like me to look into while on board and report back? Just let me know!
Did this itinerary on Vision for New Years and loved it!

The cabin now comes with 2 free soda pacakages... What is you want the next package up from it. Can you pay the diffrence to upgrade the package?
Good question, it will be interesting see. It would be a nice little discount off a greater package.

My experience was the exact opposite. I just got off of the Anthem and was charged an additional 18% by purchasing on board. The beer and wine package was $42/day PLUS an 18% gratuity. If I had purchased on-line the gratuities would have been included. When purchased on board the $42/day does not include the 18% gratuity.
I was able to pull up the Royal Caribbean website, where it clearly states that gratuities were included in the price. I was referred to guest services. When I showed them that the current, published, price includes the gratuity, I was informed that it doesn't on the Anthem.
I would have pre-purchased if this policy was advertised.
In addition, I pre-payed $35 per person for Chops. Glad I did as it was $45 on board.
Same for for us on the Vision for the New Years cruise, had them listed at the expected 42/57/62 but then had a line at the bottom of the sheet that 18% would be added to all purchases.

We sail out sunday as well, looks like the races starts at 5am so the roads will be all back open by 11. So while it will still be busy with traffic midday at least all the roads will be open.
