  1. With one of your concerns being "comfort and quiet" just wanted to share my experience in cabins that are located in the aft of the cruises I have been on.

Yes the views are great in an aft cabin, the vibration felt from the ship's propellers may be something to consider. From my experience, the constant vibration keeps me from booking aft cabins. Be aware, since the Bliss is still being built it will be a guessing game to the amount of vibration felt since all ships vary. ;)

  2. My husband and I were married on a Carnival ship. The crew was very accommodating and had a great trip. The LGBT meet ups were not hosted, this means it may require getting a little uncomfortable and talk to people. Enjoy and have a great voyage!

  3. Tangier was one of our ports at the end of January. We opted for the ship's tour to Chefchaouen and would highly recommend it. It was very colourful, and the included lunch was wonderful. Wear suitable footwear if travelling there, streets were very slippery when wet. A lovely elderly Moroccan lady helped me stay upright on one occasion. It was a two hour bus ride away, so I would not recommend attempting this with a local tour. The ship had to wait for our bus, we arrived back one hour late due to traffic in Tangier.

Our ship docked in view of the medina in Tangier, but as we were on a full day tour we only saw it from the bus.

Thank you for sharing, we will be in Tangier on the 16th of April and want to visit Chefchaouen and were considering a private tour versus the ship tour. Hearing about traffic, we may just be booking the ship's excursion.

  4. I would grab it! Although if you are talking about the port side, there is a review on here about 14144 being right under the ping pong tables, and I wonder if the noise problems also affect 14150.

We just got off the Getaway on 12/09. We stayed in 14150. Noise was not a problem, there was one early morning we heard chairs (or something) being moved around however it lasted less than 2-4 minutes. The perk of that cabin is the bump out balcony. Gave us a little more space! ;)

  5. Or Purchase a Spa Cabin. I always choose the spa cabins! They are located on Deck 14

That is what we did on our last cruise on the Getaway, suprisingly the Spa Cabins were not that much more that a Balcony cabin. It would have cost us more to get passes once aboard.

  6. how are the sailaway parties on the getaway? is it kid friendly? our upcoming getaway cruise is our first non disney cruise and we loved the sailaway parties on dcl

Just got off the Getaway on the 6th. Sailaway Party at Spice/H20 was kid friendly. All the Nickelodeon Characters come out, seemed like all the families were having a blast. :)

  7. Day 1 - Embarkation

We had reservations for the Illusionarium at 8:45pm so we headed down around 8 and got in a short line. We ended up getting great seats right at the front of the stage. The meal was really good and BF really enjoyed the shrimp and beef tenderloin that he got. He ended up saying that was the best meal he had on the whole ship. The started was a tomato, mozzarella, and prosciutto salad (mine without the prosciutto) and I liked that as well. I had the vegetarian dish which was eggplant parmesan and it was very good. The dessert was a trio of mini ones and 2 out of the 3 (red velvet cupcake and a flourless chocolate cake) were delicious. The third one neither of us liked. For this meal BF gave it a 10/10 and I would as well.

The Illusionarium was a really well done show and I like the storyline and attention to detail. It seemed like every server was involved and they had a good cast of magicians and illusionists. Some of the tricks and things I could figure out but other ones were really impressive. The mentalist act was my least favourite and it felt kind of obvious, but the illusionist and other acts were really entertaining. Overall it was a great show and I definitely think everyone should go once. There were some points where I was really baffled and amazed at an illusion or trick and I love when I can't figure it out since usually I see little details or giveaways and solve the illusion myself.

It was a great first day on the ship! :)

We were on the same voyage and were at the same Illusionarium show. My sister in-law was the one that the mentalist brought up on stage. ;)

  8. We've had very good luck using Priceline in NYC; we like that the zones are so small.

I would agree with Andee, I booked our hotel for an upcoming cruise out of NYC via Priceline. Accepted a bid for $210 a night and found out it was the Renaissance Times Square. Was a happy man especially since I will be able to add to my Marriott points!

If you are unfamiliar with Priceline, there are resources on the internet that will give you tips on "bidding for travel". ;)
