If you purchase now and later the price drops, you can cancel the original purchase and purchase at the new price.  The original purchase will be refunded to the original purchase method and usually is refunded within a week.

If you have already reserved a drink package how do you find out if the price has gone down. When I do to Royal’s website it doesn’t show the price unless I sign in. When I sign in it only shows the price I paid. So how do I find out???

    TIA,

    Pam

  2. My husband and I are booked on World Europa. This will be our first cruise with MSC. We usually cruise with RCCL. They offer robes to use while cruising. Does MSC offer the same?

    TIA,

  3. Thank you very much for your review. Enjoyed it very much. My husband and I have booked “Big Mama” for December 2024 out of Rome. We have never sailed on an MSC ship, only RCCL and Princess. I hope we won’t be disappointed. There seem to be a lot of add on costs.

The shore excursions you booked seemed quite interesting. Rome has been on my bucket list for a long time. I’m  particularly interested who you booked your Rome excursion through.

Happy sailing and hope you have a safe trip home.

How accurate in identifying the cabin number is the bar code trick?

Literally anytime between now and embarkation day.

You can use the barcode trick to find out early (usually). Either add your set sail pass in the app to your Apple wallet (if you use an iPhone) or scan the barcode. Numbers will appear below the barcode. The numbers to the right of the dash are your cabin.

Today we received our cabin number. You were right!!! The last 4 numbers after the dash is our cabin number. Yea us! Very pleased

    Again, thank you!

Happy to help and glad you're pleased with your location!

We're not too picky and usually book interior GTY's to be frugal. We're one of those "the cabin is just for sleeping, showering, and changing" types. Everyone has their preferences of course. As long as I don't get stuck on deck 2 or 3, it's fine.

We got deck 7 forward for our upcoming Indy cruise in 2 weeks. Would have preferred aft and a bit higher if I was choosing but no big deal. Maybe we'll win the small RoyalUp we have pending. If not, the extra steps crossing to the back of the ship to get to the DL for my morning coffee and WJ for meals won't kill me. 😁

We are kind of the opposite. John and I enjoy sitting on the balcony in our robes, having our coffee and continental breakfast, and viewing the early morning scenery.

BTW, congratulations on your milestones this year…20th anniversary, 1st suite, and 1st crystal block.

    Enjoy your upcoming Independence cruise!

I noticed that and edited my post but you were too quick, lol.

Again, thank you for the trick. If that will truly be our cabin I am very happy. It is probably a cabin I would choose. It is midship, high enough deck, and unobstructed!

    Happy Sailing,

Thank you very much. I scaned the bar code so we shall see if that is actually going to be our cabin.

    Looking forward to the cruise!

  8. My husband and  i usually pick the floor and balcony cabin we desire. We have booked Serenade of Seas November 12th sailing to the Western Caribbean. We chose to book a GTY balcony cabin this time. When I go to our booking it lists our floor, and muster station but still lists it as a GTY.  When should we expect to get a cabin assignment?

    Thank you in advance,

I feel your pain....my advice, as someone who has cruised a good many times, is never pick a cruise to visit a particular island...things can change re ports of calls etc...IF one island is a must see, fly there and stay in a nice resort.

That said, enjoy The Allure, I sailed her in Mid September...was a great cruise.

Thank you!  Regardless of the itinerary we plan to thoroughly enjoy our cruise!

OMG -- let it go already!

Didn't know this was going to cause such a stir. Some on this thread want to really stir the pot. I was just stating my disappointment.  Many of you have cruised a cajillion times.  Not me. I don't have that luxury. When we picked this cruise because of the islands it was going to, it is disheartening when changes occur. Let it go! Move on! I am...

  11. We are to sail on Allure of the Seas November 14th.  RCL changed our itinerary and dropped St. Thomas and Nassau.  We didn't really care that Nassau was dropped.  We were looking forward to St. Thomas because we have friends that will be in St. Johns during that time period. RCL substituted San Juan, which is ok.  The other island they substituted is St. Kitts/Nevis.  Why in the world would RCL do this when the CDC has placed this island on the "do not visit" list because of extremely high incidence of COVID.  Makes absolutely no sense! I am very disappointed in RCL.  We won't be cancelling our cruise but we will also not be getting off the ship even with the RCL shore excursion.

Just ask on the first night and you will receive every evening after that.  We got them 7 out of 8 days on our Odyssey cruise last month even though they were never on the menu.  Kind of pot luck though since you never had a clue what was coming until they placed it in front of you.  A few misses, but most were excellent.

We are cruising on Allure of the Seas in November.  I love the cold soups so I am thrilled you can special request them.  I will add this to my to do list.  Thank you!!!

When we returned to FLL from our Allure cruise back in the good old pre COVID days of December 2019, Royal offered the check the bags in on the ship and you'll see them again at your home airport service.  There was a charge for it.  But, it worked as advertised.  Don't know if they are still offering this service.  If they are an they can accommodate the 10:50 flight time that would save you having to reclaim them when departing the ship.

We will be on the Allure on Nov.14th.  I checked on this service and was told it is not available.  Sure would be nice if it was!

  14. My boyfriend and I have booked Allure of the Seas 7 night cruise for 14Nov.2021.  I have heard that sometimes there is themed nights like "White Night."  Can anyone tell us if there is a White Night or any themed nights on the Allure of the Seas?

    Thank you in advance...

I always figure 5 alcoholic drinks a day, substitute 2 non alcoholic drinks for one with if you want to figure them in.  Also remember that is every day of the cruise, I can usually do more than enough to break even but after 3 days of that i want to slow down or not drink.  I have never not broken even on a drink package, but sometime it is just break even or a little over.  What i like is I don't ever worry about getting a drink.  To be honest if I didn't have the package i would pass on the specialty coffees and the fresh squeezed OJ, but with the package I indulge.  Sometime i even get to extra glasses of fresh OJ and take back to the room then later in the day i get a shot of vodka for a super screwdriver.

BTW if you get a package, ALWAYS call the liqueur when ordering a drink, ie Tito's or Gray Goose if ordering vodka, Gentlemen Jack and coke rather than whisky and coke.  Drink the good stuff it costs no more with a package than the typical bar liqueur they would normally use.  If your paying by the drink call liqueur is still an up-charge like at any bar.

Great advice! John and I like to try new and different wines. Pairing wines with our different courses at dinner with be a great addition to our cruise...

  16. My boyfriend and I will be sailing on Allure of the Seas November 14th.  Generally what are the prices of alcohol drinks?  We usually drink beer or wine and an occasional mixed drink.  We are trying to figure out whether the "Deluxe drink package" would be the route to go or just go with drink by drink charges.  Last cruise I was on was with Princess cruise line and we could buy buckets of beer to consume by the pool.  Does RCCI offer this as well?

Thank you for any advice on this subject.
