  1. We stayed prior to a cruise earlier this year. Loved the hotel but there is a lot of stairs to go down to the cruise terminal. Depends on how much luggage you have and the weather.
It was raining so we decided to catch a taxi down, as it was a Sunday a lot of the roads were blocked off for markets. We had to go down in a roundabout way. Did cost a lot more than expected.

we have booked at the Rydges for our next cruise nice easy walk to ship

  2. You can always go to service desk and have them removed. It is easy and no problems. I have done this on an overseas cruise when the Americans and Canadians all got the 3 for free and Aussies were not included in that deal. I didn’t mind them having free alcohol but objected to the people who are used to paying tips ect not getting charged the daily gratuities and me being charged.

  3. Hi

Last year, we went to Busan. Prior to arriving I had organised $100 Australian, into Korean won for our do it yourself tour.

Princess organised a shuttle bus into the city centre located next to the fish market (which is an amazing experience.) We wandered thru it on our return from our day trip.

After catching the shuttle in, we went downstairs into the train system and caught the train to Dadaepo Beach (very easy). When we arrived, we walked to the beach and had a stroll, heading toward the northern headland to a national parkland and checked out the shrines and monuments and looked at the rocky outcrops. Towards the southern end of the beach it was a grassland for the birds, with a bridged walkway thru it. We also was lucky enough to experience a local "blessing of the fishing fleet", i think pantomine that was for the locals at this beachside park. We lunched at one of the local cafes

Hi how much did the day end up costing. Did you use the total $100AUD.

We will be visiting Busan in April and your day seems ideal.

How long where you in Port?

How long did you spend on this adventure?

  4. Maybe I asked the wrong question...... my reservation has always been on the airline website however the tickets were not paid for, so when does Princess actually pay or hard book the flights?

Depends if flexible or not. If not flexible Princess pays immediately which is required (Our flight to embankment port was booked this way). If flexible princess pays with final payment.

  5. I arranged a tour to Hell's Valley geothermal area, Lake Toya and Mt. Usu - very nice day. Not sure how much or what there is to see in the town itself.

That would be great exactly what I wanted to do but could not work out how to do it.

Tanya if you organise this let me know it is from Muroran"

  6. I have set up 4 M&G each time have contacted the person as per list above, by email a few months before with approximate number of attendees. Preferred time and date of meeting.

They let the ship know usually open bar.

Have found best time around 11am on Sea Day. People then can continue to lunch if they choose.

I pre write invitations to officers and take these and envelopes onboard with me. When onboard look at the patter and hand write officers names on the invitations, seal in envelopes and drop them to passenger service desk for them to give out.

Have had up to 12 officers from all different departments turn up.

One time when there was over 100 people the CD brought a mike with him so easier to discuss things.

  7. Ok just spent over 1 hour on the phone to princess. Learnt something because we are getting charged more then other Australians on all these prices for 2 of us if we get the Alcohol package works out an extra $720 compared to other Australians the soda package an extra $150 and coffee cards an extra $6 well has to do with time of booking and exchange rate they where offering then not what current exchange rate now. Therefore getting screwed over. As not just a standard price for Australians.

Also warning to other Aussies your ship account will not be charged at the current rate but that at time of booking. So for us 68c to $. Advice from supervisor do not put a card on your booking pay cash when you board you will not be able to print boarding passes till 5 days before cruise this way but will work out better and buy packages onboard.

So with current exchange rate 79c I will buy some USD and watch exchange rate over next few months and top up amount if AUD goes up.

  8. Daisy try eating at as many Hawker centres as you can. Our cruise in April next year leaves from Singapore and we are flying in 3 days before just so can go to the Hawke Centres that we want to repeat. Spent 6 days there last year so have done a lot of the tourist sites, but not all.

  9. I would like to know why Princess feels its okay to overcharge for the coffee card if you're down under?:(

I checked in the NZ Princess website (without logging in) to see what the coffee card costs in the 'Beverage & Drink Packages' section. It stated cost of one premium coffee card was AU$36 which, when coverted, is NZ$37.46.

I then logged in, checked the price again and Kiwis are being charged NZ$55.26 for exactly the same product.

Why does Princess feel it's okay to charge NZ$17.80 more per card?

    Seriously not impressed......

Went to buy one for our cruise next April out of Singapore and it shows $49.91 AUD and what is with these 2 soda and more packages seem to have the same things in them.

  10. Thank you TrueBlue66. How can we get to Gardens By The Bay?

Take MRT from Marina bay south pier (cruise centre only couple minutes walk) red line one station to Marina Bay you then change for Bay front station. Cost under $3.

Alternatively get off at Marina Bay walk to Marina Bay Sands have a look around there go up and see the infinity pool then walk to Gardens of the bay.

Or a taxi from the cruise centre takes under 5 mins and would cost around $5.

Or you can walk in less than 1/2 hour
