  1. Rudeness is not required:(

If a cabin is to sleep 5, what in the world did you get?

Unfortunately some people on this board only know being rude and their quest to be right trumps kindness.

We got a king size bed with one pull down and a cot this sits about a foot off the floor. There is no seating in this room and the cot is literally crammed between the wall and the bed. As I said, we have always had a room with two pull downs before.

    Lesson learned.

To "sun" and "falkor" and others of the like-carry on amongst yourselves. We are outta here.

  2. To the OP, when you cheap out to cram four people in a small cabin, it will be tight. Next time you will have to pay close attention to the floor plan for the cabin.

Was it a bed bug? What have they done?

Would hardly call what we paid for this OV "cheaping out". This is our 12th cruise. Have always had 2 pull-down beds. Aren't comfortable having our kids in another room. If it was a true "cot" would be fine but it is essentially a mattress on the floor (with bugs). We usually book. JS, but we took what was available. It is what it is- we will carry on and have a good time regardless.

  3. Got to our OV cabin today to find beds for only 3 people....there are 4 of us. Am being told a cot will be set up at night for 4th person. (See attached pic). It's almost on the floor. We paid for THIS?

There is no couch or chair to sit on. This is the smallest cabin we have ever seen. Add to that we found a bed bug on top of the comforter. Cabin is currently having an inspection to check for more bugs. Guest services of course says they are sold out and can't do anything. Trying really hard to stay upbeat-but this is a very disappointing start to our cruise. ImageUploadedByForums1438452506.329009.jpg.e869b5b4e8b16a54649bae6ea0066f8e.jpg

  4. Marc posted on his Facebook page this morning that he would be leaving EN on Monday. His post left the impression that "something had happened" internally at RC that caused his exit. Marc was our very first cruise director on Monarch and we sailed with him again on Enchantment. After 11 cruises we feel he is the best and have always compared others to him.

Does anyone know where he is going? So sad to see him go if he is leaving RC.

  5. We are cruising to Bermuda in Sept from Cape Liberty on Liberty OTS. We are arriving a couple of days early to visit NYC. I need advice/suggestions on where to stay, transportation to/from airport and cruise port and into NYC. We will fly into/out of NJ. Thanks so much for your help and suggestions.

  6. Do all suites (except Junior suites) on Oasis receive the "gold sea pass card"? Specifically looking at Royal Family Suite.

    Website says-

Royal Suite, Royal Family Suite, Presidential Family Suite, Owner's Suite, Grand Suite

Oasis Class: Royal Loft Suite, Sky Loft Suite, AquaTheater Suite & Crown Loft Suite

Just looking for clarification if RFS is included on Oasis

  7. This new terminal at PC is nice but this boarding experience this morning to get on Explorer has been the worst ever with RCI. Disorganized and slow are the two best words to describe. Got in check in line at 10a and just now got on board at noon. They refused to allow my parents to board with us because they are boarding by C&A status and then by group number for non C&A members. This is their first cruise. Ready to have a great trip but frustrating morning so far.

  8. Also on this cruise and had no problems with tenders. Walked down to deck 1 and was told no ticket was needed and walked right on, this was about 9:30. Also, we saw at least two tenders running at that time. No wait on the way back also.

That is great that you had no wait to get off the ship. That was not the case for us and several hundred other folks who stood in line at 7:45 to get a ticket and then sat in Centrum waiting for our ticket number to be called. They were only loading one tender boat at a time. I don't think we actually needed to wait because no one ever asked to see the ticket. We had no wait returning to ship. It was just an odd arrangement and a process that we have never gone through in all the times we have "tendered" :)

  9. We were on this sailing and totally agree with OP about dining. We have never eaten in a specialty restaurant on 8 cruises, but did twice on this cruise. We were on Freedom in March and Enchantment in July and saw a big difference in menu selection and quality of food on this cruise-very disappointed. The Windjammer was not up to par- ate breakfast there on 2 days, and no seasoning or taste on food whatsoever. DW refused to eat in WJ after day 1.

I posted this on another thread, but we were so aggravated with the tender process at Grand Cayman. This was our 3rd time to GC with Royal. We had to stand in line at 7:45 am to get a "ticket" and then had to wait almost 2 hours for that number to be called to go ashore. They were only running one tender boat. This was supposedly done for "crowd control" but IMO only slowed the process down. It was such a pain.

Other than those 2 things we had a great cruise! Live music on this cruise was some the best we've heard on any ship. Captain is great!
