We got there in more than enough time for our noon flight. You'll be fine just tell them of your flight time and they make sure you'll be in one of the shuttles ready to go.

Thank you for your quick reply.  I been looking around and it seems likely we'll make it.

We too use a Canadian card that charges no FX fees. We always pay in the local currency and let our financial institution make the conversion.

I agree, we use our Canadian card that does not charge FX rates.  We let the bank do it.

  3. The relaxation room on the Splendor is far nicer than on the Dream. They do have refreshments available, help yourself, fruit infused water, lemon, orange and plain. Also an assortment of teas. The relaxation room on the Splendor has daybeds and is right in the front of the ship, beautiful views. On the Dream it was on the starboard side and only had chairs and refreshments.

  4. I check Carnival.com about 4-5 times a day. I'm obsessed  I just got an e-mail from Carnival saying that I have to provide them with my flight numbers or I will not be granted my pre-paid transfers. Carnival is scheduling the flights. So I don't know what to do there. But it does say I have until 4 days before sailing to provide this info. I'm sure I will have my flight info by then, right

  5. Did they notify you by e-mail of the room numbers? I'm sailing in 19 days and no room number yet. No airline schedule either. I booked fly-aweigh. This is the first time I've ever booked a guarantee stateroom.

  6. I wouldn't have tipped more for those items to be replaced personally. I do too above the auto tips if deserved, but those items are supposed to be replaced when used.

We always tip above the auto grats. Usually $20 first day and ask for ice, robes and towels were always replaced without asking, waited 2 days, no replacements, so asked and left a tip, then with the towels had to ask again with the note so left a tip.

If you aren't happy increasing tips, then why did you tip up front? Did you think you wouldn't get those things if you didn't tip first?
I never said I wasn't happy increasing the tips, we always do, and we tip when we first introduce ourselves, and again throughout the cruise. This is the first time service wasn't done automatically, so I found this odd and thought I'd put in my opinion on this thread as to my experience. I always thought it customary to tip when you have a request.
  7. My last 2 cruises one in Jan on the Splendor and in Feb on the Dream, there were robes in the staterooms. Splendor OV cabin 2 robes, we bought a spa pass. Dream inside spa cabin- 2 robes. Both cabins no ice, but once we requested it, it was delivered and filled twice a day. (gave cash with this request)

My robe was wet when I came back from the spa, so I left if with the wet towels in my cabin, the steward took it and didn't replace it until I asked. (gave cash with this request also) The same with the beach towel, I sent one off for washing and it wasn't replaced. I left the steward a note (with cash on it) and he replaced them.

This maybe a way for the stewards to try and increase their tips???? Not sure if anyone else feels this way

  8. I did have Creme Brulee and Strawberry Bisque the last night of our B2B on Liberty. We had the new menus.

I became friendly with the MDR hostess on the 2nd leg of our B2B. She asked my opinion on the new menus. I told her my main objection was no cold soups & no creme brulee. She arranged for me to have it on the on the 3rd night. However, she said the chef wanted to do it on for me on the last night. I'm assuming he didn't want everybody seeing that I received them and would also want them.

That's nice to know. I'm on the Liberty on the 29th, I'd like to try the new menus, but there are some old favorites that I don't want to miss. Crème brulee and strawberry bisque are my two favorites. I'll have to see how friendly I can be this time :D I did book the steakhouse for the first night, so I'll have to weave some magic to have the crème brulee some other night :p

  9. Is the mud in the warmer a single use type deal or is it just continually used over and over again for different people? In other words, are people just digging their hands in one big mud pot?

We were given three bamboo bowls or coconut looking. The first bowl had the salt scrub, the second bowl had the mud (eucalyptus smelling and greenish grey color) and third bowl had the milk lotion. Everything is new, the room is cleaned and sanitized before the next couple comes in, the bowls are fresh and the ingredients are scooped into the bowl using spatulas. There are fresh towels, fresh glasses of water, it's a very relaxing and intimate atmosphere. The lights dim down when you begin and 10 mins before your time is up the lights brighten so you know it's time to clean up ;)

  10. They served it on the Splendor in January and also on the Dream in February. They offer it on the first night, in the MDR.

One night, in the MDR third or fourth night I asked if I could have crème brulee and the waiter said "no" not on the menu. I also recall JH saying you could request it anytime, but I guess not all ships are aware of his answers to certain questions. As a matter of fact, I mentioned that JH said we could order it anytime in the MDR to the waiter and he had no idea who JH was...go figure:eek:

  11. We did it on the Splendor in January. They called it the Rasul mud treatment. We did not have a spa cabin, but bought the weekly spa pass and it was offered as part of an upgraded spa pass for couples, the charge was $300.00 for the week and included all the thermal suites and thalassotherapy pool. We had to book the Rasul treatment with them, you get a one time treatment in the rasul mud room, exactly as described by above poster, they come in show you the room which is broken up into sections and give you a description of what to do with the different bowls of products and how long to leave each one on. You can lock the door from the inside and no one can come in for the time you are booked in there. They also stated "you can do whatever you want in there".

It was wonderful and looking forward to our next cruise and will definitely be booking a spa cabin. ;)
