  1. Thanks everyone. We went ahead and bid on a few different Retreat categories but doubt we’ll be upgraded since both of us are only Classic Captains Club members and put in low bids. If by some miracle both of us get an upgrade that would be great, but I’m not holding my breath-lol! If only one of the bookings gets an upgrade we’ll deal with it then.

  2. Keep getting emails with discounted Move Up minimum bids. It' so tempting and would love to try, but the problem is not knowing if both bookings would get the upgrade. Not sure if we should take the chance. Currently we both are booked in Concierge IV on the Ascent and want to try for the Retreat. We had a Sky Suite on Apex and loved the larger room, sun deck and lounge.  Has anyone with linked bookings both gotten the upgrade? I've read that's it completely random. Thanks

It might be easier to have them download the Celebrity App.   Select the Current Reflection Sailing -   The Cruise Planner lists everything for the entire cruise.    The default filter is Recommend but  if you choose all will show everything.   Just click on the day # and will show each day's activities

If they see something they Like the can click on it and it will set up a reminder in their individual daily planner

Completely forgot about the app. Thanks for the reminder. I’ll definitely let them know.

  4. Not sure where to ask this question since it’s specific to the Odyssey, but here goes: Trying to book train tickets for our upcoming cruise. We’re doing a private transfer from Rome to the ship, but will be taking the train back to Rome after the cruise. If we are self-carry, what time can we expect to be allowed to disembark? I know there’s an FB train at 9:16 and 11:16 and regional trains in between which take longer. Would we be able to make the 9:16 train? Thanks

  6. We've been debating whether or not we should upgrade from a Sky Suite to a Celebrity Suite to have the separate bedroom. There will be 3 of us sailing on a "girl's" cruise so we need to be able to have 2 twins. After watching numerous videos, it doesn't look like there's enough space in the bedroom to separate the king bed into 2 twins (bedside "tables" on both sides). Does anyone know if the bed separates and if so, how much space there is between the 2 beds. The bedroom area as a whole looks tight. I have seen photos of the beds separated in a Sky suite but can't seem to find any of a Celebrity Suite with the bed apart. Thanks 🙂

Over the past month, I've had the unique opportunity of sailing in 3 different types of suites on Edge class ships: Iconic (Edge), Penthouse (Edge), and Villa (Apex). I don't have time to do a full blown review of each, but thought I would just highlight some of the pros and cons. All of these accommodations provide high-end, luxurious experiences, and any criticisms are really very minor first world problems. I'm extremely grateful to have had the chance to experience them, and am completely sold on X's Retreat product on E class ships.

    Villa (Apex 15100) - 1 bed, 2 bath, Sq ft:739 interior, 211 balcony

    Pros

    • Quiet and private
    • Super convenient location, integrated into retreat sundeck
    • Amazing views with floor-to-ceiling glass on both floors
    • Great indoor / outdoor integration with large balcony

    Cons

    • Unreliable hot tubs that don't always work as designed (ie - achieve and maintain high water temp).  Few people on the ship seem to know how to maintain / fix them.
    • Poor bathroom lighting
    • Very low hanging chandelier in living area
    • Only 1 bedroom with beds that split, but do not separate.
    • No / limited streaming capabilities that reduce the benefit of the huge TV
    • Lower quality Lavazza coffee machine that wasn't well maintained
    • 2 story room that can sometimes be inconvenient if you leave something on one level

GMoney - Would you please clarify what you mean by split vs. do not separate. We were thinking of upgrading to either a Royal or a Villa, but definitely need the beds separated. Thanks

  8. ChicagoPaul-we'll be on the Apex Eastern Caribbean cruise in March. Would like to know what shore excursions for St. Thomas are being offered on the ship. On the website the options are very limited and don't appeal to us since we've been there numerous times. Just want to go to a beach and chill. I know we can hop on an open air taxi to take us to a beach which we've done in the past, but we have shipboard credit to burn. Thanks and have a fabulous time 🙂
