  1. never been on the regal before. one way we are thinking of getting to know the ship is to do a food crawl to different places to eat for dinner for the first night , rather then the buffet, specialty restaurant or the MDR. for those who are experienced princess cruisers, any particular path and recommendations we should follow. BTW we do eat everything

    thanks

  2. thanks for all your input- to me it seems that for us to enjoy the beaches at Falmouth the most feasible option would be on spending $200 + and go to an AI resort. which is somewhat a waste of $$ since i can get a lot on the ship for the same $200 ( cabana + drinks) or we grab a taxi and go to a local beach

  3. we are sailing on the western Caribbean itinerary with stop in princess cay, falmouth, grand cayman and cozumel. we only have two ship days. Assuming that the weather is beautiful we may want to spend an extra day on the ship without going to shore. We are beach and beer people. We know we are getting off at princess cay and cozumel. If we had to give up one port, basing it on beaches, convenience to getting to beaches ( and return) which port should we consider not visiting- falmouth or grand cayman and spend that time on the sancturary deck

    thanks

  4. we are celebrating our anniversary on the regal and want a memorable dining experience. since my wife like to laugh and enjoy her wine ( or is it the other way ) which dinner choice would be most appropriate. I am leaning toward the chef table due to its implied elegance but not if it is like a "Downton Abbey" experience where a "Carson" is looking down at me because i picked up the wrong spoon. My wife wants the wine maker dinner since it sounds like a less formal experience , and wine is included . any thoughts on cruisers recent experiences on either dinner is appreciated.

  5. My daughter ,who goes to school in Seattle is graduating next year with a BFA in photography. I am encouraging her to apply be a photographer on one of the Hal lines that sail to Alaska for summer of 2015. Do they even make any money ? She is a little on the sensitive side as are most "artists". How pushy does one need to be on the cruise ship to make a wage? As her father I am hoping that the crew on the Alaska cruises are not as party hardy as I heard the crews on the Caribbean cruises are (wishful thinking perhaps)

  6. a day at a local hotel on POA in Kauai

My wife informed me, two weeks before we leave, that we have tooo much planned and just wants to chill out while we are in Kauai. One idea we came up with is to see if we can go to a hotel around Lihue and use their facilitities on a day pass. Is this idea too unusual or has anyone tried this before . Of course please provide any recommendations

    TIA

  8. hello all-

we are working on our return and the only non stop to Denver is with united at over $1000 pp. has anyone taken this flight- if so how "comfortable" is it - relative to maybe a southwest flight from denver to nyc ( or any other 4 hour flight). the other option is a flight to seatlle -stay overnight at a hotel and then continue to Denver the next day

  9. hi all- it looks like it would be less expensive if we book our return in two segments. but to make the connection we need to take an 8AM flight- based on arrival in Honolulu- what is the earliest time for a flight we can actually plan on- considering needing to get off the boat- get to the airport, through security and at the gate

    tia

  10. taking the family on the cruise and one of the BIG moments will be the lobster served on POA- does this occur on any specific day of the cruise? is it lobster tails or lobster meat pulled out of the tails? what specific region does the lobster come from? are seconds ( or thirds) offered?

    thanks
