  1. Hi All,

Might be the wrong area, but seeking advice nonetheless... I logged into my carnival account the other day, and the first tell tale something was amiss was the password not working, but I thought maybe I stored the wrong one (password db app), so attempted a password reset.

    Password reset email never arrived...

Proceeded to do a "forgot my username" - asks for name/dob/email

Email appeared, username recovered and password reset... this is where it gets interesting, whilst the full name and dob was the same, the email address was an aol one (not mine) the address and phone number were someone in pasadena, I'm in Australia... 2 of the past carnival cruises I'd taken were there, as were my travel buddies (wife and children).

The final noticable difference was two additional cruises it looks like the pasadena person has taken 2 cruises (2x 3 nights) from LA to Mexico.

After I changed my password and email address for a second time to my secondary account, I found that a data breach had occurred on the carnival site, and it seems like my account was used by someone to get extra perks perhaps (i'm only a red member)? I don't have my CC linked to my account, so I don't think there'd be any other reason why they'd use my account.

Has this happened to anyone else? do I need to report this to anyone at Carnival?

    Any advice appreciated.

    Cheers,

    Matt

  2. Hi Cruisers,

Just wondering how often you've had to skip a stop at Castaway Cay during your September cruises during inclement weather events?

I'm hoping to cruise on Disney, but I'm limited to September itineraries due to vacation timing and curious to know my likelihood of a missed stop at CC (which the entire fambam is super excited to visit.

    Cheers,

    Matt

  3. Hi There,

My family group and I are planning our next cruise for the 2020 September 7 night Halloween on the High Seas cruise from Port Canaveral. I realise no cruises have been posted for that far in advance, but I'm wondering if anyone knows approximately when Disney release their future cruises?

It seems the Halloween on the High seas cruises are extremely popular as availability for the 2019 cruises are already limited.

Also - any recommendations to the most reputable online booking services? I was considering booking direct through Disney, but I feel there will be some discounts to be found with others, such as Vacations to Go or the like?

Any feedback there would be appreciated.

    Regards,

    Matt

  4. Hi there,

I'm looking for some suggestions from any Australians whom may have travelled on an American cruise like, and used a power board/strip, for a compatible unit.

In the past, we took a travel adapter and converter for a power board/strip, however our last cruise in 2015, our board was confiscated because it contained a surge protector, now I have since come to understand the reasoning behind the confiscation... But I'm wondering what the solution is?

Looking for any makes/models/links to products anyone may have used on an NCL boat (escape in particular) and had no trouble with it?

    Cheers,

    Matt

  5. By "about" 20 weeks you mean what? At 24 weeks she will not be allowed to cruise. If she is that close you might want to have paperwork that states how far along she is.

by about - I mean - we'll be 19 weeks on the Wednesday prior to the cruise departure. So 19.4~ weeks on embarkation day, and 20 weeks on the Wednesday mid-cruise and 20.4~ weeks on disembarkation day.

So throughout the cruise, we'll be under NCL's 24 week cut-off... so no worries there.

We have planned on getting the Doctor signoff letter and I'll follow offered suggestions of submitting prior to NCL and keeping a copy on hand during embarkation day.

  6. My wife and I cruised on the getaway when she was about the same level of pregnancy, it was great. Did your doctor clear you to take a cruise to Zika countries? I had read somewhere that the zika outbreak was sort of burning itself out but didn't know if doctors were yet ok with it.

Was not aware of the Zika outbreak news... I'll check with our doctor on next weeks visit

  7. Pregnant* - apologies for incorrect spelling in threat title

    Hi All,

My DW is going to be about 20 weeks pregnant at time of our March 17th cruise on the NCL Escape. We've been given Doctor sign-off and everything so far is in order for a normal pregnancy.

I'm wondering if anyone here has cruised NCL (Escape or otherwise) in roughly the same stages of pregnancy, and if so - any tips/gotchas you found during your holiday.

This is our second baby, so we're across most of the basics as far as eating etc (she's upset the buffets are out) exercise and shore excursions that aren't too physical etc.

I'd love to hear from anyone who has experienced cruising whilst pregnant.

    Cheers,

    Matt

  8. Fun music and loved the zoom shots of the ship. I see that you put a lot of thought into the video. Great job.:)

The kids looked like they had a great time on green thunder.

Thanks mate - appreciate the kind words. I didn't get as much video as I should have, which would have included some external footage of the ship/sydney etc - but I was able to make up for it with the stills I felt - so glad they were well received.

and Yes - the kids loved the green thunder!

  9. I wounder if weight or surface area has anything to do with the speeds.

I was thinking similar - I was about 90kg during that cruise and I did the 3 points of contact method they use on the slides at wet-n-wild - e.g. shoulders, bum and ankles - I made sure to arch my back so it didn't drag and I was able to keep my legs off the ground by crossing one at my ankles...

the boys in my group gauged our speed by how far we travelled on the escape chute... the biggest member of our group managed to get within 2m of the end of the tube, I barely made it past the handrail in the middle...

Following on from my Green Thunder video earlier, this is our Carnival Cruises South Pacific cruise onboard the Carnival Spirit in 2015 .

It was a great cruise, lasting 12 nights, departing from the overseas passenger terminal in Sydney Australia.

We arrived in Sydney a day early so we could see the Carnival Spirit arrive in Sydney Harbour prior to our boarding so the first couple of pictures were from 5am when it arrived.

We boarded just after the VIP guests due to booking a fair way in advance, and we were lucky to get through customs and security checks really quickly so we were onboard before many of the other guests as well - meaning we mostly had the ship to ourselves.

After we got underway, we headed to Noumea first, followed a quick stop a lifou, where we snorkeled for a while and checked out the forest and secret grotto tour, highly recommended.

Our next stop was in Fiji and we took a day trip to South Sea island - the snorkeling there was pretty good - though they'd just had a hurricane the week before so the water was a little murky.

After Fiji we headed back to the Isle of Pines in Noumea where we had the best snorkeling of the entire trip and saw some amazing sea life.

The cruise wrapped up with 2 days at sea and our final arrival back into sydney harbour.
