  1. Hi, we're looking at booking a short cruise next year on Aurora. We are just going to book the basic cabin grade for an inside (PF). There are cabins on A and D deck. A deck is just down from the Riviera pool so I'm worried about noise from the sun loungers being put out first thing but D deck cabins are above the theatre. Has anyone stayed in any of these cabins and can advice on any noise issues? Thanks

  2. Hi,

I'm looking at booking an early December christmas market cruise and I was wondering if the christmas decorations will be up that early on board?

Also will it be more likely to be choppy seas in December? I tend to do summer cruises apart from one October one which was in 63mph winds!

    Thanks

  3. Is it possible to get breakfast in our cabin? (roomservice) We got it on navigator (Rccl) and ate on our balcony twice.

    (From Denmark)

Breakfast room service on P&O is continental rather than the eggs and bacon you can get delivered on RCI

  4. I'm thinking of taking the kids on their first cruise in summer 2015. My twins will have just turned 6yrs and my youngest will be 3.5yrs. Am I mad? :D

We were thinking of a 3 night on Ventura to see how they get on. Does anyone have any tips on cruising with young kids? I'm worried about them getting bored. What are the kids clubs like?

  5. We've sailed on Ventura and Independence and if I had the choice and they were the same itinerary and price etc I'd choose independence. They were both lovely ships though and would go back on both.

I think the food was nicer on independence, there was loads more to do and I'd definitely choose it for a longer cruise as I think I'd get bored on sea days on a long Ventura cruise. But you felt more crammed in in the buffet area on independence. It was busier than Ventura and they'd crammed more seating into a smaller space. I personally though the RCI trips were cheaper. The tips were a lot cheaper on P&O and that soon adds up. Both were 3 night cruises but we paid £3 something a day each for 2 days on p&o and $12 something a day for 3 days on rci. RCI felt a bit more butlins at sea. And I felt we were trying to be sold loads all the time

  6. We sailed with RCI last year. They did a deal where you got a balcony cabin for £99pppn. It was a guarantee cabin and you were guaranteed an E2 cabin which is a deluxe ocean view stateroom with balcony but we were upgraded to a D1 which is a superior balcony and was 199 sq ft with 65 sq ft balcony. Don't know how it compares to p&o balcony though but I thought it was a good deal. RCI change their deals all the time

  7. I'm just about to book a cruise for the summer on Oceana. Are there possibly more cabins then the website is showing me then? We just want the cheapest cabin as we are only on for 2 nights and not planning on being in it much. They are showing 8 cabins for that catergory. How do I find out if there are more?

  8. There is no doubt that the Getaway fare is also bringing a new type of passenger to P&O, and one that may not be for the better. You used to think that with the cost it also kept , how shall I put this, the riff raff away. Not any more. If fares stay this low I predict it is only a matter of time before we start hearing of many passenger problems with drunkeness and disorderly behaviour becoming more prevalent.

What a completely narrow minded view you have!

Low prices attract all sorts of people. The couple who can fit another holiday into their year because it's a good deal or people like myself and my husband who have 3 very young children who are not yet at school meaning we only have one income coming in, plus a huge mortgage to pay for, so we can't afford expensive prices but can grab a cheap getaway priced cruise to have a couple of days away together. Maybe people like us shouldn't be allowed on a cruise then as we don't meet your upper class standards
