Give Royal a call, maybe they can get the luggage tags rebuilt for you? Perhaps? We don't want this luggage tag situation drive you to jump off the pier.

Thanks Binro . . . Called RCCL and they said they would issue new docs for me with updated luggage tags. 24-48 hours! We’ll see! Not on suicide watch yet. 😎

  2. Just received a Royal Up to a Junior Suite on Symphony for Saturday (Oct 30). Instructions say to reprint Set Sail and luggage tags. Set Sail has been updated but luggage tags have not. Is this something that updates overnight?

I know I can just get the correct room on tags at luggage drop-off on Saturday, but I have a (severe) psychological condition which mandates that everything be as perfect as possible for my cruise book that I assemble afterwards!😜

    Thanks -

  3. Did a quick Bahama cruise in October on Majesty of the Seas out of Port Canaveral. Did a half-day birding tour at Nassau with Carolyn Wardle (Google her). She's a Brit who has been on the island for 50 years.

We drove around in neighborhoods, a wildlife reserve, seashore, and even sat outdoors in a person's back yard (Carolyn pretty much knows everybody on the island, it appears).

    Lifers:

    Smooth-Billed Ani

    Red-Legged Thrush

    Cuban Grassquit

    Ovenbird

    Cape May Warbler

    La Sagra's Flycatcher

    Least Grebe

    White-Cheeked Pintail

Other good ones I already had:

    White-Crowned Pigeon

    Bahama Woodstar

    Various Plovers, Gulls, etc.

Overall a very good day, highly recommended.

  4. Returned from our RCCL cruise on Enchantment of the Seas. Went to Cococay (RCI's private Island) and to Blue Lagoon Island on our stop at Nassau.

    Cococay

I took a two-hour walk on the Nature Trail. Weather was great - sunny and not too hot. I have pictures of everything except the Bananaquit, Hummingbird and Mockingbird. There were also a couple of other species that flew by and hid in the bushes. Too fast to get an ID.

    Indian Peafowl

    Prairie Warbler

    Laughing Gull

    Blackfaced Grassquit

    Palm Warbler

    Eurasian Collared-Dove

    Bananaquit

    Great Egret

    Green Heron

    Northern Harrier

UNK Hummingbird (flew by me pretty fast)

UNK Mockingbird (heard but couldn't locate in tree)

    Blue Lagoon Island

I just wandered around for about an hour. They have a boardwalk that wraps around the lagoon/beach and goes to an un-improved part of the island (woods), but they had it closed off. I spoke with a worker and he said that they closed it off because of possible liability issues. It is a bit remote and they were afraid that someone could get hurt and nobody would know. Oh well. He said that they have counted 13 or 18 (can't remember exactly what he said) species on the island - some woodpeckers, hummingbirds, etc., that would be found in the wooded area that was closed off.

Ruddy Turnstone (all over the place - fun to watch)

    Common Ground Dove

    Laughing Gull

    Ring-Billed Gull

Had a good time - the Indian Peafowl, and Ruddy Turnstone are lifers for me.

On to Labadee, Falmouth and Georgetown in October!

  5. When I locked in my Oct 2015 Freedom cruise, I was able to cash out for $1250 toward the BOGOHO price. If I wanted to use the "free cruise for two" it would be against the "regular" price (which was maybe about $1600 per person for an OV) and I would have ended up with a worse deal.

Overall I didn't make out too bad . . . about $500 out of pocket for a balcony.

    On Royal Caribbean???? Unheard of!!!

My Boss once posted a picture of the "Most Interesting Man in the World" on my office door with the caption: "I don't always test my (software development) code, but when I do, I do it in production." I am of the belief that RCL really doesn't test their code.

  7. Let's try to keep this thread alive . . . it's a real good resource for specific islands.

I just kind of walk around on the private and other islands while The Bride gets a lounger in the shade with a Corona and a book!

So far have been to the following with some of the highlights:

Princess Cay - Black-Faced Grassquit (M), Bahama Woodstar, Comomn-Ground Dove

Cococay - Bananaquit, Black-Faced Grassquit (F), Common-Ground Dove, hundreds of Laughing Gulls

Maya Cay (excursion from Roatan) - White-Crowned Pigeon

St. John's (excursion from St. Thomas USVI) - Zenadia Dove, Pearly-Eyed Thrasher

I am cruising to Cococay again in March 2015, Labadee in October 2015, and Hawaii in April 2016.

    Thanks -
