Not having cruised since the C shut down since we are not vaccinated I am a little rusty with cruise planning and we have a big one for us coming up in Jan-Feb 2024 18 days to Hawaii so I have been busy.

While I am continuing my research on what to do in each port that works for us and I have pretty much narrowed it down to the following; which are all subject to change for sure and all weather dependent as well.

2/5 Monday 8-6 Kuai - dock port Pier 2A - walk to Kalapaki Beach for snorkeling and nearby shopping and dining

2/6 & 2/7 8-6 Tuesday Oahu - dock port Pier 2B Honolulu overnight - 3 milkes from the port is Waikiki Beach and pretty sure we will book Kualoa Ranch UTV tour for the first day in port; still several other options I am looking at.  Since we will be back here in 2025, God willing, we will look at Pearl Harbor then.

2/8 Thursday 8-8 Mau Lahaina - tender port - we have booked a HAL excursion Turtle Snorkel Adventure via catamaran to use our excursion credits from our HIA pkg.  May just walk around town after the excursion or return to the ship as we love just being on the ship

2/9 Friday 8-6 Kona - tender port plan on visiting Kona Brewing Company to have some locally brewed beer probably in the afternoon as I am pretty sure we will be booking Konastyle - Kealakekus Snorkel & Sail morning excursion that is only a 1 minute walk from the pier; great reviews and takes you to the Marine Sanctuary

2/10 Saturday 7-5 Hilo - dock port Pier 1 still up in the air may do Hop On Hop Off, plus there is a FREE shuttle bus that will take guest to Walmart for souveiners as recommended by the Inside Cabin blog.  There is also Hilo Brewery tasting room which we may visit; Hilo is pretty much still up in the question mark area.

We are not at a point in our travels yet where we have a desire to be on a crowded tour bus and from everything I have watched and read Hawaii is a tourist meca and if you do not get to the destination before the tour buses it is crowd city.

Plus I have read that crime against tourists has increased, but that is everywhere in today's society.

You know what they say "the best laid plans"....ours are always in jello that is how we roll in our RV lifestyle and cruise life as well.

    Ahhh, that sounds awesome!

Short weekend for me.  Day off today but boss asked me to work since the gal scheduled called in sick.

Postponed our off road plans and I worked....extra $$$$ to pay off Hawaii cruise.

Hope to ride tomorrow on my day off.

    Hi Susan,

How do you like your work camp arrangement this summer in Utah? We’re planning a trip to Custer area of SD in Sept. Do you have any recommendations for a campground? Thanks! Tracy

I Just got me some Journey Tickets.  They are playing at the Pro Football Hall of Fame induction weekend!

I just saw them in St. Paul, MN and it was a excellent show! So much fun. I felt like I was in high school again. Have a great time!

Slow day at work so far... We've almost survived until lunch break, which isn't very exciting for me today. Sardines, crackers, and sauerkraut... Trying to save money on food if I can't save on drinking. At least the weather is looking nice, and I hope to get out for a nice motorcycle ride this weekend...

Sid, Tonight on Amazing Race they said sardines are the healthiest fast food and I thought of you. 👍

We’re going on RC Jewel of the Seas in a couple weeks. Miami Beach before, then Bimini, Costa Maya and my favorite, Cozumel. First time doing their Bar Hop Tour.  Thanks to all who’ve recommended, I can’t wait!

I got a phone call from my grandson at college a little while ago thanking me for the Halloween card and token cash.  Asked him what he’s doing this weekend - party tonight at ten, party tomorrow, and a party on Sunday.  (He can’t drink due to a rare condition, so he’s always the dd.). Oh, to be young again.   😛

And, oh to be a college kid with an awesome Grandma too!

I was able to get out of work about 45 minutes early, and raced straight home to begin moving more boxes... It's bad enough that it was ninety something degrees, much less having to do it with a mask on. I'd finally got a decent sized load in the van, then headed straight over to unload. This was exceptionally difficult, as I had to get the heavy cart through two sets of doors on the way in the building. I would've been great to have some help just to hold the door, but there was no help. You really find out who your friends are when it comes to moving. In my case, it's looking like none... I'm going to go over tomorrow and try to make some kind of sense of all the stuff I piled in there today. Once I finished, I just didn't have any more in me to accomplish it. I still had to take the van back to work and retrieve my car, so by the time I got home I was whooped... My plan was not to drink tonight, but I think that I deserve a few after my day. I jumped in the shower while my leftover spaghetti was in the toaster oven, and I just cracked open my second beer. I have made a serious dent in the boxes, but sadly there's at least one more load to go. I've come to the conclusion that I have wayyy too much stuff...

I love the windows and your view looks really pretty with all the trees. Very nice place, Congrats!

Over at the new place patching nail holes and drinking a few beers... Sad to say that my first official meal at the new apartment was sardines and crackers... I promise to do better with the next one...

I had to do full shots of these benches. When trying to do collage, it cut them short.

Honeymoon beach. We took a catamaran snorkel trip from St. Thomas to here. The beach I beautiful and you can walk out to chest deep calm waters and see fish around you. There’s a little food/drink/shop there with shaded seating area. The favorite place we’ve been

    Sounds wonderful! Thanks!

I have not yet been to Key West. I wanted to go by cruise, but even when cruising resumes, Key West voted to stop cruise ship traffic sometime in the future, so I may never get a chance to see it that way. I'll add it to our list!

I was wondering if an all-inclusive would give us that cruising vibe of everything there in one place, just on land. I've never stayed at an all-inclusive resort before.

Also just realized that the USVI might be an option!

Our April Southern Caribbean just got canceled and we decided to go to St. Thomas for a land vacation instead. Rented a condo and we’ll go to St. John’s too. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks!
