  1. I believe that Regal Princess has both European and Us power outlets - so I bring the right adaptor are the US outlets 2 prongs/pins or three please?

I have one adaptor that has 2 flat parallel prongs and another that has the 2 flat ones and a third round on below and between the flat ones.

    Thank you

  2. we are taking our first river cruise later in October - tour starts out of Paris. I have some trepidation re how much walking is involved.

My hubby doesn't have a lot of energy these days. We choose either a cruise on a line we like or book an apt in the city we enjoy.

I'm excited about trying something new. I gather there is not much to do on the boat so we'll need to be reasonably active.

I think we are on the Emerald.

    cheers,

On the two Scenic River cruises I have been on I found there was ofter a 'slow/limited' walkers group that didn't go as far and avoided steep climbs. The hiking poles in each cabin are a help and there is often a wheelchair available to borrow. On the Russian cruise I have just returned from a crew member often came out and pushed the chair for a passenger who had difficulty keeping up to help the partner out.

  3. On our last trip we each wore a ScottEvest - they make jackets too. These vests are very stylish and have lots of pockets on the inside and look good even when fully loaded with stuff. This meant we could carry our wallets, phones, boarding passes, tissues, glasses, camera etc etc without ever needing a handbag. There are lots of 'hidden' pockets for extra security and sneaky lipstick and memory card pockets. When ever we had to go through a security check point it was a simple matter to take the vest off and pass it through the scanner rather than unloading the pockets. We purchased a vest each as we travelled in summer, and now will be purchasing a jacket each for when we travel in cooler months.

In the past we have used money belts etc, but found these vests to be so much more comfortable and practical.

  4. We are cruising Russia next year - our original booking with Scenic Tours was for mid May departure, but they have cancelled their first & last 2 trips of the year due to people cancelling thier bookings because of the unrest. We are now travelling 2 weeks later - fortunatly we were able to make the adjustments. Scenic are covering the extra costs we would incur to change flights, accommodation bookings etc with the rearrangement. We did have to insist on the same or a better cabin, but got it with a little gentle nudging.

We take the attitude that if we all go into our boltholes the terrorists have won, plus when our time is up, it is up, regardless of where in the world we are.
