Thank you for the family review! We sail in 4 weeks and this is only our second cruise and first on NCL. My daughter is 11 and loves musicals in general. If I warn her upfront about the adult content do you think it would be ok?

First time cruiser here. I’m trying to do my online check in. I didn’t approve the kids to be able to charge to a credit card for onboard payment preferences so it won’t let me check them in. They are minors, can I not check them in without approving them to charge to their room key?

We have a regular cabin (not Haven) for our 7/28 sailing but your kids are the same ages as mine. Any feedback on the Kids clubs? My understanding is my daughter (11) will be in an older section than my son (9). Not sure how they will feel about being separated. Did your kids like the kids club? What about the temps of the pool - we're from Texas so my kids are used to pretty used warm pools.

I didn't understand what the service charge was for but then it was explained to me that covers the tax and gratuities to the bartenders. That's under $20 a day - still a great deal. I still plan to tip a little extra for really good service.

You do not....but a few small tips goes a LONG way...
For sure! Just wanted to understand what the fee was and what it covers. Thank you!!!!

I have a question. This is our first NCL cruise and we chose the free beverage package. I did read in the Terms and Conditions that we are responsible for taxes and 20% grat. On my vacation summary, there is a choice promotion service charge. Am I understanding from this thread that that service charge covers our taxes and grat? I won’t have to pay more once I’m on the ship?

We have a similar aged group for our August cruise and we’re looking for Ketchikan ideas. We booked the Tracy Arm catamaran for Juneau and private tour in Skagway.

We are 2 families (10 people total in 2 family rooms) taking our first NCL cruise to Alaska on Bliss. I’m trying to find a way to have everyone keep track of their room keys. If I get us all lanyards what are the room keys like? Do they swipe like a credit card or do they work differently? Thanks!

We attempted to book go kart rides last week starting on Sunday and all slots were taken (my kids are smaller, so we needed the two seaters). We kept checking multiple times a day and eventually got lucky when a slot opened up later in the week./QUOTE]
How big do kids have to be to ride alone?

Thank you so much for such a thoughtful account of your cruise. We sail on July 28 with our kids and can't wait!

If arriving by air and using the NCL transfer service the pier porters will be bypassed by the cruise customer.
NCL is requesting that you use the mailed or website baggage tags be applied after claiming airport baggage
and a Truck Service will take care of the rest (read copy of NCL letter image post #1) - TIP the Truck service
driver and maybe he will split the pool with the pier staff.
Baggage handled by the Transfer Bus will no doubt be handled as usual with luggage being given to the
porters by the customer after getting it off the bus. Tip accordingly at that time.
As for those passengers that check-in at the dock the union staff porters will take care of your luggage tagged
or not (union rules require union porters to tag untagged bags). Tip accordingly at that time.
Regardless it is going to be "ZOO" !
Sorry to be dim with this question but this is our first cruise and we are having to fly in the morning of the departure. So will it be easier and faster to check and tag our bags at the airport transfer service than getting our own transportation and going doing check in at the pier?

I have seen a number of cruises that don't offer it -- we were planning an Alaskan cruise next summer and opted for the Jewel, with Free at Sea, over the Bliss, which didn't have Free at Sea. Not surprising, given that the Bliss is new, better and more popular, but it made our decision for us.
What I like is the rare instance (Black Friday last year was one time) where everyone gets all five of the Free at Sea choices, not just two in a balcony. That's worth waiting for.
We are sailing on Bliss to Alaska and we got Free at Sea but it's only for 2 upgrades.

Also forgot to mention I have read on other threads that minimum to ride gokarts is 48” in a double and minimum to drive alone is 58”.
