  1. Last year we were in 911 on the Ovation for two weeks and I would not sail in that location again.  Quite a bit of noise late at night above us in the crew/officer quarters.  Also, lots of motion being so far forward.  However, Seabourn square is generous with seasick pills!

  2. We are Diamond with Seabourn and have been around the world several times with them, however we noticed in just about every category them slipping in service.  This past April we took a two week cruise and really saw the difference and their careless handling of Covid related details.  We have taken four Regent cruises so far and have two more booked and notice a huge difference.  Even though we rarely take excursions, we love the attention to detail in every aspect.  Regent has won us over.

  3. We are considering booking a cruise on Navigator later this year and one of the only suites left is 600, at the front of the ship.  Has anyone stayed in this cabin?  The deck plan shows it to be larger than other Deluxe Window Suites, however it is a connecting cabin to suite 602, and we are concerned about the noise.  Anchor noise is to be expected, however we’ve been in connecting cabins on Seabourn and the next door noise could be quite loud.  We have sailed Regent many times, however never booked a cabin this far forward.  Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Paul:  I unfortunately do not have a magic solution for you, but merely a shot in the dark.  Try a conversation with your credit card company to see what they recommend.  You might get lucky and find an experienced rep who knows how to work with such situations, which might not be so odd in this very strange time of massive cancellations throughout the travel industry.  Good luck!

    Hi Guys,

I think that we were supposed to be with you on the March cruise out of Barbados.  Our fiasco began with a cancelled cruise out of Hong Kong in February and Seabourn gave us a FCC which 'had to be used' by March.  Anyway, long story short, every cruise that they rescheduled us for was cancelled and we never received our FCC.  No correspondence from Seabourn in many months after many registered letters sent to corporate offices, so we disputed the charge on our credit card and were reimbursed within 8 weeks.  You might try that route.  For some reason, Seabourn does not seem concerned with their diamond members!

Thank you for your response; we'll look for Alexander when we board on April 17.  We sat at table 21 on the Odyssey for two weeks and liked that area of the Restaurant;  not too busy;  not too isolated.  Who was the captain for your voyage?  And the Cruise Director?

Can’t recall the captains name, however the Cruise Director was Jan Stearman.  She is fantastic!

  6. We are just off of the Antarctica cruise and noticed how very casual the evening dining room attire has become.  (Possibly due to the itinerary?) Several times noticed jeans and sneakers.  We have been sailing Seabourn for six years, eighteen cruises, and have become aware of the casual trend.  Not the case for us as we enjoy dressing up for dinner, however to each their own.

  7. On three of our eighteen Seabourn cruises, we were upgraded from a verandah suite to a penthouse suite (for free).  We weren’t aware of the upgrade (nor did we request it) until we checked in at the port.  What a great surprise!

  8. We took this exact same repositioning cruise this year from Japan to Vancouver, primarily to see Japan. We flew into Tokyo (from Miami) several days ahead of embarkation. One day of touring in Tokyo was all that was really needed. In retrospect I wish that we would have flown into Osaka. We loved Osaka and Kobe. A couple of our Alaska ports were canceled which was okay with us since we’d done the 14 day Alaska cruise last year. Our only complaint was with the condition and service on the Sojourn. I’m not sure if Seabourn used this cruise as a training cruise or not, however the dining room service and Colonnade was chaos. The pool deck was also closed for repairs so we couldn’t dine outside. Other than that, it was an enjoyable cruise, as with most Seabourn cruises.

  9. We just returned from a 22 nights in 915. No elevator noise, however the suite was somewhat ‘tattered’ with tears in the sofa, scratched furniture, etc. Hopefully these issues will be cleared up prior to your cruise. Lots of engine shuttering/shaking felt in this suite. The location was good however.

  10. After 18 Seabourn cruises, we decided to give Regent a try this past January with a 3 week Asia cruise. At first, we didn't care for it, no calling us by name (like Seabourn does), larger ship, etc. However, we felt like the food was better, with much more selection on the menu, and the 'included' tours were great. We arranged our own business class air, which ended up saving us several thousand off the advertised Regent cruise prices. We have already reserved another 3 week Regent cruise, as well as another Seabourn cruise. We love both them both!

  11. We are a female couple and just returned from a 3 week Asia cruise on the Voyager. We only noticed one other gay couple on the ship, but never felt discriminated against. The ship did have a 'dressy feel', however we enjoy dressing up so it was good for us. Sorry to hear that you had that experience.

  12. We decided to take a chance on our cruise last month and reserve a gty suite on the Sojourn out of Dubai. We were assigned suite 536, which was really noisy. Next to the main crew door that swung open and closed from about 5am to late at night. We tried to change once we were on board, however the ship was at full occupancy so we were out of luck. On the bright side however, it was close to the laundry!

  13. My wife and I have cruised out of Dubai a couple of times. We always stay at the JW Marriott and requested a king sized bed, which hasn't been a problem. Wonderful executive lounge with a nice spread of local foods to try and cocktails. Many people asked us if we were sisters, which we thought was amusing. All of the people we came into were very kind and we would not hesitate to return.

  14. We were in 7038 for two weeks last year, which I believe is across the hall from 7040. The noise that we encountered was from the housekeeping cart which was stationed outside our door. Several employees would gather and chat throughout the day, which became noisy. Hopefully the situation has been dealt with by now.
