  1. We disembarked at San Pedro on Saturday about 9am. Got an Uber to our LAX hotel within 10 minutes, $28 +tip.

Lots of people waiting in the Lyft/Uber area with plenty cars coming to pick people up. I did hear a couple of guys walk through the area asking if anyone needed a ride.

Also, the west end of Casa de colores street is the yellow building right there behind Liverpool street as per attached rough-map.

Thank you so much for the helpful info. I have plotted our points on a map. We don't mind some walking but good to know it's easy and cheap to get around.

I have included the Liverpool store as part of our day 😉

I notice you are from Ireland (we really enjoy visiting).  Keep in mind that you will need to pay for a taxi using either Mexican Pesos or US Dollars (most drivers accept dollars but will not give you a great exchange rate).  Always agree on a price before you get in a taxi (this is the rule of thumb throughout Mexico) and, if you are paying in Dollars make that clear to the driver.

We have never had a problem getting a taxi in Mazatlan, but always allow extra time, when returning, just in case it takes a few minutes to find a willing taxi.

Thank you! Yes, we will be using dollars. I'll be sure to agree a price before getting in.

Glad you enjoy visiting Ireland ☘️

  4. Hi, we have a port stop in Mazatlán in a few weeks. We are planning to walk the blue line to the historic centre, Casas de colores, Callejón Liverpool and the Malecon up to the cliff divers. I think this might be enough walking for us. How easy (or difficult) would it be to get a taxi back to port from this area? Would we be better to do it the other way around? Get a taxi from port to the Malecon and walk back visiting the attractions?

    Thank you!

  5. We sail on Jan 20th. We received the email over 4 weeks ago, it said excursions would be updated within 2 weeks but still nothing. We were booked for a boat trip and beach getaway (something like that anyway) with Princess. I figured with the late arrival and time to tender etc, it would be a bit late for the beach even if they do update times so we changed our excursion to the sunset sail.

MDR lunch on embarkation is midship deck 6 dining room. I usually order the shrimp and avocado appetizer, salmon entree and soufflé for dessert.

That is exactly what I ordered two weeks ago on Enchanted, delicious! The shrimp and avocado appetizer was the nicest thing I had all cruise, and we even did 360 dining.

  7. We disembarked Enchanted last week and on sea days 9:30am - 10am they had a book swap session, I can't remember the venue.

We were on Enchanted in June and don't recall the swap being on the patter but DD ran out of books (bookworm) so we called to Guest services to ask about a library section. They brought her to the far end of the desk and popped about ten books on the counter for her to choose from.

  8. I am glad you got to enjoy Rome after the weather calmed down. It sounds like you had a really good first day onboard (apart from medallion/battery issues).

We did the Rome-Athens leg of this cruise a few weeks ago and loved every minute of it. I think you may be doing the same excursion today that we did; Sorrento for a couple of hours, a few stops for photos, shopping/toilet breaks, limoncello tasting and a wine tasting close to Mount Vesuvius. We really enjoyed it.

We are back for the Barcelona-Rome leg next month so will be interested to see how you enjoy your cruise, thank you for reporting back here 🙂

  9. We sailed a few weeks ago, booked premier oct/nov '22 and final payment March '23. We were well aware of the changes early '23 and did think about upgrading to the 'new' package but decided the cost of an odd sundae, medallion accessory etc onboard would be cheaper than the upgrade price so didn't bother.

When we were onboard, we didn't like the look of the sundaes so we didn't have any (the cones on top deck were delicious though), bought 1 accessory for $12, knew we weren't going to any classes 😆 We certainly didn't feel hard done by. I think perhaps your agent didn't explain the packages properly to you, new/old/upgrades or maybe they weren't fully aware.

  10. We were on Enchanted a couple of weeks ago and tried a few things from IC but never breakfast. My favorite was the egg sandwich for lunch or a late night snack, it was on a bun that looked like a turtle, delicious!

I'm a sucker for the frozen margaritas, which they prepare so they tower above the top of the glass.  (I know, it's a little boring, but that's how I roll.)

We were cruising last week and I found the frozen Margarita on day 3, I had at least 2 a day after that, they are so good. I must check to see if I have any pics.

  12. We are on the first 7 day leg, Rome - Athens, It's getting very real now. We will be doing a few nights pre-cruise in Rome.

We are back in September for another 7 days, Barcelona - Rome. Some of you here have asked about tours in Gibraltar, the one we wanted with Princess was sold out. I thought we would just wait for a taxi tour when we arrive but when researching I saw tours being recommended with Blands travel, I checked them out on Tripadvisor and all seems good so I have pre-booked with them. They pick up at the port. Might be worth checking out!

    Happy sailing FPSPHIL 🙂

  13. Hi, where would I find the CC number for my travel companion?

I booked our first Princess cruise for June, I set up an account with a cruise ID # from my TA. I have been managing the website/app etc for both of us but as it's getting close now, dd will want the app herself to see what events are on etc. I wasn't sure if we would just share the same log-in but seems from reading this thread she will need her own account.

    TIA

  14. Did you go all the way through the booking? We have the Premier package and the app showed our dining credits. When I went to book it showed the full cost but when I continued with the reservation/next page it showed the dining credit for the same value as the specialty restaurant and the total was $0.00 so nothing was charged to my card.

I've read about all the issues with the app so it may be a glitch and worth trying again in a few days. I had trouble initially getting it set up and still now in the packages section of the app it lists us as having the Plus package even though I was able to book specialty dining using the credits and lists 4 devices on Medallion net..

    Hope you get it sorted!
