  1. We rented a bike in 2019. We had a 50 degree day with mist and LOTS of wind (50 mph gusts).  I will say that I was terrified. I've been riding with my husband for 25 years and it was a stressful ride. He didn't think it was that bad.  I think that if you have good weather and are experienced riders you will love it. The bikes were new and well maintained and the shop had plenty of rain gear, boots and helmets. It's about 2 (maybe 2.5)  hours to a gas station/restroom. The Canadian border is maybe 30 minutes from the ship.

I am on the Boston to Bermuda 7/31 to 8/7.  There is no indication of a cancellation when I sign into my account?

I'm on this trip as well. I hope we hear this week. I will definitely do this trip again but would like to apply for my refund. Hubby has been out of work since March.

Pre-cruise- but I did have to call Princess to get it because only the 3 levels of their other package show up in the personalizer.

I paid the same price pre-cruise. There was an "ad" showing in my personalizer. I would call or keep checking!

  4. How close is the actual menu to the sample menu on the Princess website? We have a specialty dining credit but my DH is ridiculously picky about food. Half the time he looks at the menu for the MDR and decides the buffet or pizza is the only option 🙄. I haven't been able to find any pictures of the "new" menu online.

  5. We were there last night (8/14). They are just getting started, this was only the 3rd week. There was a DJ and a band. Several food stands. Hair braiding and face painting. A few vendors with local stuff. Kids games. It was nice. The frozen lemonade was fresh squeezed and perfect for a hot and steamy night.

  6. Were you nervous at all about getting back to the ship? I was thinking of going to St George on my last day too but was nervous about being so far away from port. Other option would be to go to the shops but then I would miss St George all together.

We went to St. George our last day and had plenty of time. If you make sure you are on the free NCL ferry the ship will wait. Public transportation they won't.

  7. Hi everyone. We have a friend traveling with us that has Crohn's disease. Obviously, her biggest concern is the availability of a restroom everywhere we travel too. Alaska is causing her some stress. Do any of these boats have a bathroom? I'm sure we will be calling anyone we book with to be sure. I would hate for her to miss out on so many great adventures!

  8. My DH and Brother in law are thinking about a night fishing excursion. NCL does offer one but does anyone know of a private one? We are on the Dawn and in port Sunday and Monday night.

  9. I think the internet package is subjective. Last year I didn’t use my 250 minutes. We are going again this year and I’m taking two online grad courses and probably will use it all.. and then some.

We loved the martini bar and Bimini bar. Be nice (friendly) to the bartenders and it goes a long way. You’ll be amazed at the behavior of some.

    Have fun!

  10. Reading this makes me look forward to my cruise even more. I have one question. What time does disembarking begin and if you do self disembarking can you be off the ship by 9:30? I am trying to schedule a car service to pick us up. DH does not like to drive in Boston. If he left me with the luggage while he went to park I may never see him again! LOL! We will save alot of anxiety and stress this way.

Last year we were off the ship, and at our favorite breakfast place in Weymouth, by 9:15 am!

  11. We were planning on going to Alaska next summer (2019) however we are considering moving it up to August 2018. We were the primary care givers for our parents but , unfortunately, lost all 3 as of last week and have an abundance of free time once the school year ends.

This will be my 9th cruise and my concerns are less about cabins and ships and more about excursions, hotels and flights. There are plenty of cabins left on the sailing we are looking at. Do you think booking now instead of for 2019 would be a mistake? I usually private excursions instead of through the ship and I'm worried the good ones will be gone. We are probably going to do the land portion on our own as well.

Any thoughts and advice would be welcome!
