  1. Since this is a new ship, plus a totally new class of ships- much is unknown. But, I see conflicting wording/pictures regarding suite guests and the sanctuary/signature sun deck. On the deck plans, the sanctuary and signature sun deck seem connected. When I spoke to Princess, they said suite guests must pay to use the sanctuary, which I personally think is a chump move- but that is neither here nor there. What I am trying to figure out, is where it is, and who gets to use the pool that appears to be in the sanctuary- that is off limits to suite guests without paying extra?  Pictures on the Princess website show the pool is for use by signature suite guests.  So are the deck plans a bit inaccurate?  I can’t see suite guests walking through an off limits area to get to the signature sun deck- nor can I see sanctuary users not going into the seemingly connected area. Now- I personally do not care who goes where, I just would like to know if we will have access to the pool that is shown in that area without paying the extra sanctuary fee.  Calling Princess gave me fewer answers than I would have liked. Thank you in advance CCers!!!!

  2. We are interested in taking a tour on the day we disembark the ship. Does anyone know if we could make a 9am hotel pickup?  We have not yet booked a hotel, so we are flexible in that regard.  We would walk off the ship carrying our own luggage and taking a cab to the hotel.
    Thank you for your input!

  3. Hello!  We will be in Juneau on September 9th from 1pm-10pm.  We are looking to book either the Harv's Experience, which is a 2.5 hour whale watching with up to 6 guests departing at 5pm or the Outback Experience, this is a 4 hour tour at 2pm with up to 18 guests.  Which would be best?

    Thank you!

  4. I am being optimistic.  You will be cruising by May.  We have sailed on three of the Oasis class ships and have always enjoyed the ship and the atmosphere.  Once we had a "balcony" that was inside overlooking Central Park- which we actually quite enjoyed.  But, for the price difference, in the future we would stick with out facing balconies.  Have fun!

We are leaving Sunday for 7 days Western Caribbean on the EDGE. We have until midnight tonight for the Cruise with Confidence FCC. I keep packing yet I am still "on-the-fence" UGH! I want to go, and I am not so much afraid of catching the virus as I am Trump and/or his administration getting more unhinged and not allowing back into the country. Well I have 12 hours, unless RCI/Celebrity decides for me.

If you have no health issues- go and enjoy yourself!  I am so sad that we cancelled, and look how many thousands of passengers on multiple cruise ships and come and gone, with virtually no new cases.  I think the cruise lines are keeping the ships super clean- probably never been a safer time to cruise.  If I knew then, what I know now, I would not have cancelled.

Yes Jim I spoke with Guest Relations as well as Michaels Club Concierge those are gone from Infinity and I am not sure as I stated about the rest of the fleet.   I got the standard "that is our new contract" speech. The setup is entirely different now and all those movies are Pay per View and clearly state on the opening page $14.95..  Unfortunately October was two months ago after we all banded together and voiced our displeasure but I am happy that helped you enjoy some free flicks on YOUR schedule.  lol

2 Free movies are rotated on Channel 18 as I explained in the OP.

And paying a bit is one thing, but $14.95 is outrageous!

  7. People who don't remove their towels when they leave the pool is contributing to the problem. Really how hard is it to drop the used towels in the bin leaving a lounger available for someone else.

That is not so much a problem on the cruise lines that require you to give your seapass card to get a towel. That way, if you do not return it, you are charged like $20+ at the end of the cruise. Voila! Many more people are responsible about picking up their towels when they may be charged.

  8. Recent experience aboard the Celebrity Eclipse (4-18 March) was the worst we had ever experienced as all sun beds were reserved by 9.00am every sea day. A tour of the deck at 9.30 revealed about 15% of beds occupied by a person the others reserved with some item or other. Many of the people having multiple beds, for sun and shade. Is this fair or just the way society has declined.

How would you suggest Celebrity get a grip of the situation?

Since we are not loyal cruisers, we cruise all the major lines. Last month we were on the Carnival Vista. They had someone every day who monitored the loungers and they put stickers with the time on vacant chairs. They constantly monitored these stickers and frequently removed items. This went on every day. I thought it was great and really kept people from leaving their chairs for hours at a time. We have never seen such diligence on a ship before.

  9. Now I am not sure if I am remembering this correctly- but that might be the night the ship puts on the big Mexican Fiesta on the top deck. They bring in a local mariachi band to entertain and they have a huge buffet. It was very festive and the mariachi singers were beautifully dressed. Twice while on HAL this event took place and it seems to me it was while in Cozumel. The late departure allows for the local band to perform and leave before the ship sails.

  10. Nah I didn't pull the trigger because I wasn't ready- sure I was thinking about the O aspect and looking at the boards, and also thinking about the fact that the K also has kinda bad reviews- but I am a Libra and there lies the true reason I took some time to book - I like to weigh the pros and cons! But now I am really excited to go on this cruise! Bring it on!

  11. Thank you, she will not be on this cruise- this would be like Oprah inspired programming- maybe some behind the scenes Oprah person might be on to present information- so I was wondering how immersive this Oprah stuff would be. As long as it doesn't overtake the regular evening entertainment, I would be fine. So just putting the question out there what other people have experienced.

  12. We are considering books an 11 day sailing on the Konigsdam and I just noticed it is an Oprah sailing. I don't mind Oprah, but I also am concerned about the level the O activities that will be onboard and how they might affect the usual schedule and entertainment. Does anyone have a daily schedule from an O cruise? Or just some insight as to what we can expect day to day? I just want to ensure that we will not be disappointed- I am already a little worried about the less than stellar reviews for the ship. The itinerary is what drew us to this sailing.

  13. Hi, We were MTD on the Allure two weeks ago. It worked great for us. We were a party of two and generally hit the dining room around 6-6:30. We were always seated quickly- sometimes just the two of us and other times they asked if we would join others, and we did. We never waited in either case more than five minutes. Perhaps this is due in part to our flexibility. We never asked for the same table or waiter, so I can not speak to that question of yours. We noticed the lines were much longer as we were leaving the dining room- so perhaps the experience would be different at a later time in the evening. Have a wonderful cruise, we sure did!

  14. Thank you for all your advice! I would love to fly out of Long Beach but the cost is way, way higher. So, with your suggestions, I found a flight that leaves LAX at 1:30pm. We always carry off our own luggage, and I know the other cruise lines you can request to be off first if you have an early flight, so maybe I could also do that?

Looking forward to our first Princess cruise- though it is just a shortie, just five days- :( But, thankfully my drought is nearly over as our last cruise was in April.... I have been so anxious to book another. (We can't cruise/vacation during the summer due to our work.) Countdown is on!!
