  1. LOL...for starters....I don't eat most of the starters!...mussels...or chilled soups. or ..snails...or risotto...i'm really not a picky eater....menu is just a lot different than other cruise lines i have been on ...that's all....I'll be ok....if they have french fries ...or at least get someone to interpret what the dishes are ....don't recognize a lot of the dish names :)

    :)

They have French fries even though they are not in the menu (maybe they are on a kid’s menu?) my teens ordered them (with chicken) when we are in the MDR last month on Seaview!

  2. Cannot! I am not willing to celebrate anything without pasta, a greek moussaka is not a lasagne*

! I really hope a faux-pas like this is only happing on a US based cruise. Well, at least no Gragnano gate for the Seaview cruisers ;)

    * and the MSC moussaka is awful anyway.

There’s always (good) pasta at the buffet - go to mdr for appetizers and/or desert and skip the main course if you don’t want it! Hopefully you will enjoy the ship as much as we did!!

  3. Hi! For me it was worth it - but I made it so (you need to have about 4 drinks a day to make it worth it)! We may have done just as well/better using our fantastica drink vouchers and buying the beer package (my husband mostly drank beer) but I enjoyed the convenience and was quite satisfied with the variety!! Enjoy!!

  4. Is it normal to have three elegant nights on an MSC 7 night cruise?

Together with a white and tropical evening, that only leaves 2 casual evenings.

Not sure I want to wear black tie three times, and given baggage weight, don't want to take both a black tie tux and a suit, so will probably leave the tux at home. Am I right in saying that a tux is a rare sight anyway on MSC?

Again sorry for the confusion- I guess I was in a rush and/or jet lagged and didn’t review the photos but hope some of them were helpful. Only 2 elegant nights and I would leave the tux at home! Enjoy your cruise!

  5. I guess (and hope) the Daily Planner for Friday is incorrect, posted duplicate from Thursday. The pages in the photos look identical to me. I still believe 2 Elegant Nights on 7-day Western Med cruise. Maybe somebody can confirm ?

Yes sorry about that. In the future I am going to mark the date on top so I can keep track!

  6. I’m going to try to post pics of the cruise planners from our recent cruise - sorry if the pics are not great but I always took them in the morning and then could refer to the photos on my phone - and since it was made up of 4 pages and a 2 sided insert the photos may be out of order - anyway you’ll get an idea of what to expect!!

****Edited - i’m terribly sorry but somehow I substituted Thursdays daily planner for Friday - And I think I deleted my photos so I can substitute but ignore the elegant night and details that appear on Friday, July 6 - only elegant nights are Tuesday (Messina) and Thursday at Sea****

  7. In the Sports bar do you have to reserve the booths? Thinking of booking next year

Sent from my SM-T580 using Forums mobile app

I don’t know if you had reserve on regular days but the world cup semi were on when we were sailing and there was a package for about €100 or something which included a booth and chicken wings ( or pizza? Can’t remember) and beer…

  8. One thing I mention While I’m thinking about it is nobody checked our card when we went into the theater although I did pre-reserve through the MSC and meet up… And the shows were sold out so I don’t know if they checked earlier and we just arrived late while I’m thinking about it is nobody checked our card when we went into the theater although I did pre-reserve through the MSC and meet up… And the shows were sold out so I don’t know if they checked earlier and we just arrived late? I would say to get a good seat you need to get there 10-15 minutes early As we often had to sit in the back!

  9. I posted images of the daily planners and daily specials for the maiden voyage (10th June 17 June) on this link starting at post #17

it might be interesting to compare the info on the two sets of planners.

That was interesting, thanks… One difference I noticed is that on the Sunday and Monday you had different performances in the theatre... It looks like some of the other performers in the different venues were the same… I’m sure with the variety most people can find something they want to do/see!

  10. On our sailing there is not a classic drink package. It’s called Restaurant & Bar Drink Package.

    Are they the same thing?

We just cruised on Seaview and had the “all inclusive restaurant and bar package” (per my booking docs) which is also known as the classic (no minibar items included not anything with an asterisk)! Sometimes we had to sign for the drinks but it always showed up as a 0.00 charge to the room when we signed and it did not show up at all on our final invoice!

  12. Pasta wasn’t available every night in mdr but was available in the buffet which is partly why we alternated - I have 2 picky teens and they much preferred the large selection in the buffets. Last year on Divina we had a gluten free friend with us and gf pasta was offered each night (so maybe it is here too)?
