First Mexican Rivera cruise. Been to Cabo and PV. Never been to Mazatlan. Heard there are cliff divers...that would be interesting? Any suggestion for fun things to do other than snorkeling or beaches. Guests 55+ ... some back injury adults.

:D
I am a rookie cruiser and wondering if the excursions on the ship are worth it?

I wish we had more time in Skagway. I really liked that town. We rode the rail and it was great because my husband can't walk that far. I would have loved to take a formal tour and have someone tell me about the town. I found a fantastic quilt store there, but I am a quilter and spent a few hours there alone!
I like narrated tours -- so much to learn about a new place.

This will be our first visit to Tahiti. If you had only one place to visit ...which island would it be? I would love to see the pearl farms and/or markets ... where to go?

Thought it might be nice to fly to Tahiti and take one of the cruises. Any recommendations?
Or if we were to fly to 1 island to stay, which would you prefer?
Thanks for your input.

I just want to say thanks to all the info on this board. We had fantastic weather on our ports and the new camera I bought was worth the $$. I realize now even if I bought it 6 months ago, I would still be struggling with my pictures. The point and shoot is just what I needed and got wonderful memories.
I wasn't a person who liked cruising -- but on this ship my opinion has changed. I even feel a bit down this week because I'm back to normal.
Thanks everyone for asking the important questions and making rethink what I was taking with me. Didn't need raincoats....or umbrellas ... but glad I packed them anyway.

Yes we are on a cruise and only in port for a while. But I didn't know they had so many golf courses! Just a crazy thought!

This might be a crazy idea, but anyone know of any golf courses that are close for when we land in Victoria?

I don't have a bunch of money, but can someone direct me to where to buy good quality, light weight binoculars? I will only use them occasionally ... just vacations.

Is it better to get them on the cruise line or look independently on line? Lots of info here, but I'm afraid of getting taken!

I am hesitant to book a tour that is not with the cruise line. How safe is it to do that and how many of you have done it that way?

I was hoping for a better experience going through a private company vs. the cruise ship's company. Who's better? First time visit, and want to get the best bang for the buck.
What City Tour do you recommend for Mazatlan?

Do you catch the double decker bus outside where the ship drops you? Or do you schedule on the ship?
