As of right now, the only people allow to fly into Tahiti are residents. They are checking your ID when you try to get on the planes. So I don’t think your cruise will be leaving in April. I’m sorry to tell you that.

Which itinerary is better, with PG or Aranui??
Which is better? They are both wonderful in very different ways. The PG has a fantastic crew and drinks are included. The Aranui is more lay back, wine is included with lunch and dinner. Shore excursions are included. On the Aranui the crew is your entertainment. We have been on the PG 4 times going to different groups of islands and in January it will be our second time on the Aranui. You will see amazing things on both ships. You will have to just do both of them yourself. Happy Cruising!

Annalucia if you go that website they have a phone number you can call. The price for these trips are 15% more then their regular trips. If you want to do this trip don’t wait it will sell out very fast. The last one sold out in a week.

I’m on the first cruise to the Pitcairn Islands. 3 months 3weeks away. We were lucky enough to get the same cabin that we had on our first trip on the Aranui. Getting real excited. This will be our 7 trip to the South Pacific. One land trip, 4 trips on the Paul Gauguin ship and this will be our second time on the Aranui. I will try to do a review when we get back.

Get yourself a Olympia TG5 underwater camera. The reviews are excellent. In the $300-$400 range.

$7,000 for 13 days isn’t too bad. It includes air fare, wine with lunch and dinner, and shore excursions.

Was on the Aranui 5 in June 2016 and am booked to go back on her January 2019 on a maiden cruise to the Pitcairn Island. If you want something a little different you should try this. She has room for 245 passengers and the crew are your entertainment.

My favorite small ship is the Paul Gauguin in the South Pacific and only has 335 passengers. Best crew ever !! Also the Aranui 5 with 245 passengers.

I am truly thankful for all of the helpful advice given on this thread. The pictures have been amazing, too. We just booked our 10 day cruise on the Paul Gauguin. This will be our 1st trip to FP and cruising on Paul Gauguin. We will be celebrating our 40th Anniversary in July 2019. We are booked in cabin 437. Does anyone know if this cabin will have engine noise? I have so many questions, but I will continue reading this thread, and I'm sure I'll find some answers.
Thank you for your time,
Fount
You will be fine in cabin 437, have been in 436,427 love the big picture window. No noise either. Have a great time.

I feel her pain. I leave tomorrow and picked up a used scooter because it was less than renting one. NOT how I planned to cruise!
You can talk to your mom's Dr. They may be able to write a script for one and get it covered with insurance. Sound like she might need one before the cruise, as well.
You can also can the cruise line. See if you are able to change to an accessible room. They will also give you the numbers of the companies they work with. These scooters will be waiting in your room, upon arrival. They will arrange for assistance getting her on and off the ship.

Don’t get a knee scooter. I try using one earlier in the year and they are not very safe. If you every hit a bump you could go over the handlebars. Also she would have too use the leg with arthritis to push herself. I would look into getting one of those transport wheelchair. Their a little smaller and more lightweight. Costco sells them.

Hello. I know there is a PGC motu in Ta' haa where you can spend the day on the beach. I think there is also a motu in Bora Bora with a private PG beach. Are there tenders out to these motus....how do you sign up?
Is there anything similar in Moorea...I see a trip called "BBQ on private motu" which I'm hoping would be less commercial than the "Beach day at the Intercontinental" but is the beach as nice? I am a beach lover!
Where is the snorkelling best on this trip? I was thinking of snorkelling in Huahine, Aitutaki and Bora Bora, Moorea. Should I do a land tour in any of those areas instead? I want to see whatever is the best feature for each specific island ( was thinking of land tour in Raratonga & possible Moorea). What do you suggest?
Thank goodness for the wonderful people on this site. The suggestions are invaluable. Much appreciated!!
The tenders take you out to the moths. You don’t need to sign up. The tender to the Bora Bora Motu runs every hour. Do water excursions for Bora Bora and land on MOOREA. The best thing we like to do is to do an ATV your on MOOREA. You will see the inside of the island, the pineapple fields, the school and a lot more. They aren’t the hard to drive either. Bora Bora is a great place to do a snorkeling with the sharks and rays excursion. Huahine and Aitutaki are other nice places to snorkel. The BBQ on Tasha is really good and all you can eat. It’s a great way to spend the day. Hope this helps a little. Have a great time.

Cruisefun, I didn't think to take a picture of it when we bought it. Let me talk to the Wife about getting it out, she hasn't started on it yet.
The shop we went to, right next to the market, had a few quilts totally hand made and ready for purchase, but the majority of the quilts were those that the pattern was applied but needing the hours of stitching to finish them. The cost on our quilt was approximately $275.
Doug
I can’t wait to see it.

When you get to go to Pitcairn Island make sure you pick up a ship to bring home. When we were there she only had 2, so make sure you get to the top of the hill quickly.
