  1. I booked directly from HAL. My TA is from HAL. I never mentioned I got any guarantee on no room changes. I said I haven't get the notice of room change, and I hope that won't happen to me.
  2. When I first booked my cruise with the rooms I selected, my TA already told me, that both rooms are for 3 people. I was allowed to select those rooms at that time, but I might be bumped to a different room for one of them as we only have two people in that room. This reminder was given before we book. I booked the rooms anyway. Later, because of change of pricing, I was able to upgrade the two rooms to after view balconies. Same thing happened, both rooms I selected are for 3 people. I wasn't given the option to select the 3 people room for 2 people. I told my TA, I will cancel if I don't get those rooms. She then called into head office and get an approval to book with 2 people in a 3 people room. Now everything is finalized with full payment. I got the rooms I need. I haven't received any email about caution of room change. Hopefully that will not happened to me.
  3. Rebook will definitely lost CO as it follow the booking number.
  4. FYI, each AARP membership can be for two people in the same address. So I add my mother in as my 2nd. She also receive AARP OBC for her room now.
  5. From what I understand, refare means you have the same booking number which your deposit is attached to, but adjust the room and price in this booking number. Rebook means the booking number is void and deposit is refund. All the other purchases like spa, cabana or CO will also be refund if only if they are refundable, because they attached to the booking number. A new booking is made on the new condition. If you found a better deal or same deal with a better cabin, you can ask for change. Only problem is You may loss the promotion or OBC attached to the current version of booking. . i just did a refare for the new crew appreciation promotion. My current cabin is obstructive VH and it is no longer available for 3 people. So I was quoted the next normal VH from the website. Turn out, with a better cabin, my price remind almost the same, plus the added crew appreciation. It is no brainer for me to upgrade to new VH and get the crew appreciation. I will however lose my OBC from the obstructive VH. And I am ok with it. for your senario, if your inside doesn’t have 3 people anymore when it is 400 cheaper, then how much is an ocean view? Chances are, ocean view is also cheaper. You may not get $400 back, but you can ask for a better room. If I were you, check the next category, if it is same price, switch and get the new promotion. and don’t forget to regard to non refundable price a few days before final payment. It will save you a copy hundreds there.
  6. I am not sure if it is considered refare or rebook. I have refundable fare. I told my TA I want my AARP OBC. If it means I have to cancel and rebook, please do so. I am upgrading my original cabins anyway. I don’t care the originally OBC as I get a better deal with crew appreciation. fyi, the crew appreciation only include the first two guests.
  7. I just refared mine. 3ppl 4 day Pacific coastal: Originally booking: $1439 CAD (refundable) with Obstructive VH, 100OBC, Healthcare worker OBC. Refared booking: $1732 CAD (still refundable), upgrade to VH extended balcony. keep Healthcare worker OBC, AARP OBC, and crew appreciation Will wait till closer to Final payment to switch to non refundable, which is $1407 CAD
