  1. So, on our last cruise we added our photo at check in on the app prior to our departure. However, they still took out picture at the pier.

Why do they need the picture supplied during registration? I'm asking because we're starting check in for an upcoming cruise and I'm at that stage again.

For the Symphony port, who or where do I go to get someone to push me in a wheel chair thru the boarding process?

I will tip well since it’s me and my sports bag.

    TIA

My son is a fulltime wheelchair user. We were able to go in thru the doors to the right. Didn't need to wait in the long line outside. Find a Royal employee and ask them where to go.

  5. My family and I will be cruising on NCL Getaway April 23rd! We will be in Roatan on the 25th and would like to go to a nice beach resort area, but my son is a C-4 quadriplegic and needs a wheelchair accessible cab, if any, and a place to have a little room to roll around!!! However, he will be using a manual chair with power assist wheels that can be removed and he can be lifted into a car type taxi! Any info would be helpful! Thanks!

  6. We are trying to plan a cruise with our Quadriplegic son and are thinking about going with Freedom of the seas. We know this cruise has only 3 ports of call, and one being Coco Cay is a tendered port. We are wondering if anyone has been allowed to tender off the boat at this stop, and if so, how difficult was it to get on the tender! And... are there paved paths to wheel around on?

  7. Going to St Thomas next week and was wondering if there is any great Beach with a full bar service that is wheelchair accessible... My adult son is a Quadriplegic and would like to hang out by a beautiful beach with some shade and enjoy a few drinks! Some of us would also love to do a little snorkeling while we are there!

  8. We are cruising on Oasis from 24 January with our multiply disabled son (aged 28).

He's travelled all over the world with us and whilst he cannot walk, he can climb steps in/out of a coach and has even been on a catamaran from a zodiac when we visited Majorca.

Has anyone got any advice or information on possible excursions that might be fun (and don't involve museums or nice views/zoos etc). As our daughter is also with us, we'd love to do a boat trip, with snorkelling for her but wonder whether or not there would be somewhere safe to stow a wheelchair either on board or at a pier. I found several trips online and of course Royal Caribbean offer a huge range of trips but the ones officially designated as 'accessible' just won't be of interest to our son (or us!).

    Thanks for any suggestions!

I believe there is a dive center at the Secret Harbor Beach Resort in St Thomas that offers diving and snorkeling tours for the disabled: http://www.aadivers.com

  9. My family and I are cruising on NCL, January 24! We are wondering if there are any wheelchair accessible beaches in St Martin? My son is a Quadriplegic and would like to go to a beach bar area that offers some shade and drinks! He is not interested in transferring to a beach wheelchair, he just wants to enjoy the day relaxing by the beach, but the rest of the family would like to go for a swim and snorkel a bit! Any suggestions?

  10. Next August we have a reservation with ABC tours (Far away ... but I love to plan) They sent us thefollowing message, and I thought I would pass it along if it isn't otherwise known

"We would like to inform you that as per the 1st of December 2008 the Aruban government will introduce a $10.00 fee per person to enter the National Park (the road to the Natural Pool)."

Looking forward to visiting Aruba! Jan

Just got back from a cruise. we went to the natural pool on Dec 5th via KiniKini tour. Did not get charged a fee. Maybe because we booked it before the 1st of Dec. Natural pool is a great place, don't forget your bathing suit.
