  1. That My first cruise was on the Celebrity Century. The ship was new then and my late husband was in a wheelchair. We went with friends and there were 19 of us traveling together. We had a handicap cabin and it was so impressive. Our travel agent arranged for a limo to pick us up at home and a nurse met us at the.car and.escorted us onboard. She checked us in quickly and within minutes, our cabin steward.introduced himself.and showed us the advantages.of a handicap cabin. The bathroom as large enough to take the wheelchair inside. There was thick, plush carpet everywhere and it made it difficult to push the wheelchair. A crew member always stepped forward and pushed the chair for me. In the buffet, I would get my husband settled at a table and thenI would get plates for us. A waiter would see that I was handling two plates and always helped me. In the dining room, the waiter saw that I cut up my husband’s meat, and he started cutting it up. Several times, the Maitre D’ cut. It. The waiter pushed the wheelchair to the elevator after dinner each night.

I was so impressed with Celebrity, I wrote them a letter and one to our travel agent. For obvious reasons, Celebrity has always been my favorite cruise line.

  2. We always bring our own cork screw and have never paid a corkage fee and we have done over 30 cruises. Ask room service for wine glasses or get them at any bar onboard. They are the same wine glasses used at the bar, so when you walk out of your cabin with your wine, take it to dinner.

  3. On our first trip to Australia, we did a Princess cruise that also took us to New Zealand. Before the cruise, we did a land tour that started in Sydney, it included several flights within the country. We went to Ayers Rock (Uluru) the Great Barrier Reef and more. Princess handled everything, guides, flights, buses and food. If you really want to see Australia, include this in with your trip. You won’t regret it.

  4. We are interested in visiting Australia/NZ (which is a huge bucket list item for me) and I am starting to research all available options, but would love to hear recommendations from seasoned cruisers. Definitely have to hit Sydney, Melbourne, and all the great scenic places in New Zealand....we are young, active 60s, enjoy fine dining but certainly are not food snobs, prefer a verandah cabin, but we are most interested in a port intensive itinerary with nice floating accommodations for a decent price. We have sailed on HAL, RCCL, Princess, & a Viking river cruise, but I am not familiar with the best way to book this trip. I should mention that I might like to try Celebrity cruise line as well. Should we use our US TA? Or, book with one there in AUS? Any other advantages/disadvantages I should know about. We are thinking probably Jan. 2019. Is January the best month to visit? If not then, when would you suggest? I would like to avoid typhoon/earthquake season if possible. Ideas on what to pack for Jan. there welcome as well.

  5. Thanks, but I did check that and still hit a dead end. We are booked on the Majestic for 49 days from Rome to Shanghai. There is a message from Cruise Critic saying the thread has been deleted. Hmmm !! I wonder why. Contact us doesn't tell us anything. I know the ship is new, coming out in April.

  6. We are sailing on Caribbean Princess for a back to back beginning on 9/20/14. Originally, the ship had been scheduled to do the short 4 & 5 day sailings all month, but then the "Pricing not available" showed up for a few days and then the sailings from September 6th through September 20th have now disappeared. When searching the website by Caribbean Princess for September, no other sailings show as taking the place of those that went away. Does anyone have any idea what might be going on with the Caribbean Princess during this timeframe?

We are Carl & Linda from Ft LDL and we just booked this cruise because of the good price offered. We haven't been to the Caribbean for a few years, so it's time to go again. Does anyone know if there is Meet & Greet scheduled?
