  1. My husband and I are scheduled for a cruise in early June. I had already ordered  the Abbott monitored at home tests recommended by Celebrity  before cancelling our February cruise so I have them to use. I would really appreciate some insight into my concerns about the pre cruise testing.

I have researched the on line testing (I even watched the demonstration on UTube) and it looks very doable.  However, I am not very comfortable with technology and am concerned about using my phone and desk top computer to make all the correct connections to follow through on getting the right apps, connecting with the video and getting the results of the tests on my phone.

The option of going to CVS or Walgreens also worries me because I  hear of people who have not gotten their results in the promised 24 hours because of glitches in the system. Plus you do need to wait 24 hours.

I know it is my decision to make but I am so stressed that any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

  2. My husband and I have been cruising for more years then I even want to mention. We are up to about 30 cruises. Our needs have changed over the years and we find that more and more we enjoy the days at sea. Although the Celebrity Hawaii cruise offered on Oct. 27, 2019 from LA to LA has the five days going and five days coming back we look forward to the sea days being broken up by the stops at the 4 Hawaiian islands. It offers us the sea days but also some exploring in Hawaii. After chatting with some passengers on our recent Celebrity Caribbean cruise who will also be on the Hawaiian cruise we added as a B2B the Pacific Coastal cruise which will go from LA to San Francisco and back. The combination of the two cruises should satisfy all our cruising needs!

  3. Has anyone checked recently to see if Celebrity has reinstated their luggage valet service for ships docking in Miami and passengers taking flights from Fort Lauderdale?

I know they had done away with it but their was some speculation that it might be back.

  4. We will be leaving from Fort Lauderdale airport on an evening flight after docking at the pier in Miami. Any suggestions for a tour/transportation company that would pick us up in Miami, do some touring either in Miami or Fort Lauderdale or both and then drop us off at the Fort Lauderdale airport?

    Would appreciate nay help!

  5. It was my understanding that when you ordered one of the drink packages a tip was included. I think it was 18%. I assumed that was included in the price of the package. However, I just read something about being charged for the tips at the end of the cruise, which would mean that the tips were not included in the cost of the package. I hope I am reading this wrong. I would appreciate anyone who has bought the classic or premium drink package to clarify this for me. Do tips appear anywhere on your "invoice" when you settle your account at the end of the cruise?

    Thanks for any responses!

  6. It is my understanding that there are tour guides available outside the fort that you can hire. My first question is whether or not you actually need a guide or can you do the fort yourself? Secondly, has anyone ever hired a guide just for the fort ahead of time that they would recommend? i am a little hesitant about just using someone from outside the fort.

  7. Try taking the bus! The bus terminal is right in town and it is a lot cheaper then a cab and you don't have to worry about getting someone to share a cab with you. It's a lot of fun and makes you feel like a "local"!

  8. On our last cruise we made select dining reservations for 7 each night. We had no problem showing up at 6:45 or 7:15, although, one or two nights we did have a short wait, but, it really was very short. We were usually given the option of eating with others which sometimes we did and sometimes we didn't. We found the staff to be very accommodating.

  9. We have used the luggage valet service on several of our cruises, although, never in San Juan. We think it is the only way to go!!!! You put your luggage out at night and the next time you see it is when you get to your home airport. It is easy and convenient. When you disembark you just go through customs without having to worry about picking up your luggage.

  10. Do you think that Perry Grant's move to Princess will have any impact on people booking with Celebrity? it makes no difference to me but I know that there are a lot of very loyal Perry Grant fans out there. We usually go on Celebrity in Feb. and there is always a very large group of Perry Grant fan club members on board. Will these fans follow Perry and are they enough to impact Celebrity?

  11. I am somewhat confused. I was in Curaçao once and I remember walking across the moving bridge and finding an area of shops and restaurants. Is the area of Punda and Handelskade a part of this same area? It sounded like they were areas that would be fun to explore but I am not sure if they are part of the main town of not.

  12. We will be stopping at Mykonos on the last day of our cruise and thought spending part of the day at a beach would be a nice way to end our trip. I just looked on the internet and it sounds like there are a number of lovely beaches but I am not sure where they are in location to the port or how easy they are to get to. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

We will also be stopping at Kros and Santorini. Althought we are not thinking of those as beach days if there is any beach that really would be worth going to we could adjust our schedule.

    Thanks for any help!
