As others have said, you will see a mixture of dress, lots of people did wear long dresses (not really ball gowns) or cocktails. One of our party did get refused entrance to one formal night dinner, because although incredibly smartly dressed, he was wearing a light coloured suit, when dark coloured suits are specified on the dress code.

The high speed train goes directly into St Pancras which is on most of the main tube lines, so you can choose where to go from there.

Hi, you can book train for high speed on http://www.thetrainline.com or http://www.nationalrail.co.uk
Services are frequent and take just over an hour on fast train.
Hope this helps, have a great time in London
Which Ship
in Fred. Olsen Cruise Line

I've cruised on Balmoral and would highly recommend, the food is very good and ship is friendly. The entertainment is of a good standard, but perhaps not as glitzy as P&O.
I have not cruised on Arcadia but have travelled on P&O Oceana. I personally much prefered Balmoral, but I like smaller, friendly ships, although the P&O ships tend to have a slightly higher standard of cabins.
As someone has already mentioned, the all inclusive package on Fred Olsen is very good value (when doing their £10/night).
If it was me, I would choose Balmoral!
