  1. My husband and I wear uniforms for work and on our days off we're in jeans and t-shirts. Whenever we go on a cruise we always participate in at least one of the "formal nights". It's always nice to get dolled up and take great pictures. Cruises are the only way I can get him to wear a tux LOL. That being said, its all up to you. If you don't want to dress up to the 9's and only want to go casual, then do it. This is your cruise, no one can tell you what to do. The great thing about cruising is that there are tons of options! have fun with it!

  2. NO! You've been lucky slipping through.

We never tried to sneak it on, just threw it in the garment bag with the formals. It's only a small travel size one anyways. I was under the impression that as long as your flat irons, curling irons, and steamers had an auto-off switch they were ok to take on board. Oh well. If you're not afraid to lose it just pack it and see what happens.

  3. I booked a 4 day on the Inspiration 3 weeks ago. Since this is truly going to be a booze cruise for us, we decided to let Carnival pick the room since it was cheaper. About 2 days after making our reservation, we were assigned R28. When I made the reservation, all we were guaranteed was an inside room. R28 is an outside porthole room so that's a small upgrade I guess, and we're not stuck with bunk beds. We are normally balcony people but I couldn't see spending that kind of money for such a short cruise. I guess it just depends how close to the cruise date you book. Another thing is I booked two separate rooms and requested that we be placed at least near each other and actually got rooms right next door to one another. I guess you could always book it and then change it if you don't like the room assignment.

  4. Yes it is use it or lose it but you can transfer your balance over to your casino account and cash it out there so you don't lose anything. We always put more $ on our account than we'll use and the last night on the ship we'll go to the casino and transfer the remaining balance over and cash it out at the cage.

  5. Here's a link to the review I read, along with the excerpt..

"Barbados we did a ship sponsored shore excursion with catamaran and the turtles and were pretty disappointed. It just didn't seem very well organized. People on barbados just didn't seem very happy to be dealing with us that day. We were told after booking that we could not use our snorkel fins on barbados excursions. We then said we would switch to a different excursion and they were going to charge us a cancellation fee. All this within 2 minutes of booking the excursion. We were not happy and the only comment i have is "shame on you - Carnival" we won't make that mistake again."

I hope it was just a misunderstanding. Why would Carnival deny someone use of their own gear?

  6. Hey all,

I read on a CC review that Carnival "forbade" customers from bringing their own snorkel gear onboard a ship sponsored Barbados snorkel excursion. Has anyone had any experience with this particular issue? We sail in 21 days and booked a pirate ship snorkel excursion through Carnival. This was the only reason we were bringing our own gear. Thanks in advance!

  7. Sailing on the Valor this May and staying in a Lido balcony room....

    1. Is there a hair dryer in the room?

    2. How about mini-fridges?

    3. How is the steakhouse food and atmosphere wise?

I've only been on the Breeze and it spoiled us a bit. The hair dryer in the room was a very nice convince. I need more room for my shoes...

    Thanks!!

  8. We sailed the Breeze to Nassau last June. The day we were in port, it happened to be Nassau's Labor Day. Everything was closed and there was a HUGE parade going on. Because of the road closures, we ended walking about 2 miles to a beach. IMO, Nassau isn't very touristy. It has a very impoverished feel to it. We ended up being too uncomfortable being off the beaten path like we were so we took a boat over to Atlantis. Eh, wasn't impressed with the resort either. Hubby and I both agreed that Nassau was a waste of time for us and we should have used that day as a boat day. Read some more reviews of Nassau before you make your decision. You can always get off and back on the ship. :)

  9. We used the laundry services aboard the Breeze. We were staying a couple extra days after debarking and it was nice having clean shorts and shirts to wear. LOL. Here's a tip, they charge $10 a bag so I rolled all the clothes into tubes and layered them into the paper bags they give you. (Thanks CC for the tip!) I was able to send out one bag that way and didn't have to spend so much. I'm definitely going to do that again when we cruise in May. I'm trying to tell myself not to pack so much this time around.

  10. Thanks for sharing!! Looks like you all had a great time. we will be on the breeze soon....

One question, what beach was that so close to the pier in grand turk? is that the beach owned by Margaretville?

    Thanks!!

    Jim

Jim, I can't remember the name of the beach but it was right next to Margaritaville. I hated that beach. LOL. It was so rocky so you couldn't get good footing while in the water. But it made for great pictures being so close to the ship. I was too hungover and ended up back in the room while everyone was at Margaritaville. I wasn't that impressed, and neither was my hangover.

  11. Very cool video,it looks like you all had a great time.We are on the Breeze next Nov.

It was a blast! We've talked about jumping on the Breeze again when it changes itineraries, we liked it that much. We sail on the Valor in May and I'm hoping this ship is just as entertaining as the Breeze.

  12. My best friend who I normally cruise with but not this year:( lives in Lake Elsinore. I have been to Hemet for shopping I think. I will actually be visiting her next month. Thanks for posting these videos. Unfortunately I don't sail on the Breeze until September so this will have to get me thru!

Small world! LOL. I hope you enjoy your cruise!!

  13. Thanks for posting, but a Youtube message popped up saying that the content owner has not made the video available to view on mobile devices. I am using an iPad or an android phone.

Unfortunately DH had trouble with YouTube when it came to publishing the videos on mobile devices. They can be viewed on smart TV's or laptops/desktops. The videos have to be completely reformatted for mobile devices and that would take too long. :-(

  14. Just thought I would share some videos with you all. My DH and I, along with our best friends, sailed on the Breeze in June 2013 (I'm only a year late). My DH put together these videos of our days in port and on the ship. This was our first ever cruise and we had an amazing time. As we prepare to sail on the Valor this May, we both like to YouTube other people's vacation videos, to absorb as much information as we can. It's sad there aren't a whole lot out there that share with you the whole experience. (Videos more than 5 minutes long). We like to soak up as much as we can. LOL. So, here are our videos! Please enjoy and excuse the amount of drinking that we do. Shenanigans are our forte!

P.s. These videos can't be viewed on a mobile device. :-(
