White Bordeaux tend to be a blend of Sauvignon blanc and semillon which can give the wine an almost oily or waxy quality which balances out the more intense fruit flavors of Sauvignon blanc. while Sancerre is Sauvignon blanc and the area where it is grown produces a more mineraly or flinty wine. Thus similar but very different. Personally I like Bordeaux Blanc’s more. We are on the Ovation in April and hopefully they will still have this wine.
