You saw no damage in St. Maarten? I've seen plenty of posts by other people stating that the island (especially on the French side) is still decimated. Did you stay right by the port?

Sorry we didn’t stop at st marten they bypassed it because of the damage. All other islands on that schedule were all good though. I think we docked in Martinique instead. Sorry again for the mistake.

We went on same cruise in December last year. We even stayed in San Juan for 5 extra days post cruise. Most places were open in San Juan. There were a few signs of uprooted trees outside the hotel (Marriott Stellaris) but all restaurants were up and running. We went into town a couple times. More damage there but quiet a few stores were open and the fort was amazing. All the other islands you mentioned we didn’t see any actual damage. We did tours on all the islands. It was amazing. Have a great time.

we are not sure what we will have time for so any feedback will be a great help. Our ship docks at 12pm on a Friday and leaves at 7pm. Will we have time to book the 2 or just do beach or aquarium. Grandkids are 6 and 9.

Coki and Sapphire beach are both beautiful with calm crystal clear water for swimming or wading. Chairs and food are available to purchase. We bring a box of corn flakes from the ship buffet and feed the fish. They are plentiful and gorgeous. Lots of Nimo fish :D:D:D:):). The kids would love either one.
What a great idea. Thank you. We will for sure borrow some cornflakes. Well that’s 2 islands planned now just got Tortola. We have stayed at Long Bay 3 times last one being about 8 years ago. The beach and ocean are amazing. I think there has been some changes made to the Resort so will have to dig into that.

Thank you for the info. Yes I agree cinnamon beach is well worth the visit but with 4 adults and 2 children we figured that getting cabs and a ferry would be a little much this time.
I’ll def look into the link you sent though. :)
Just checked it out as like most of the other resorts they are closed through the remaining 2018 year

Just a thought; but St John is one of our favorites. If you can leave your ship as early as possible in St Thomas and take the ferry to Cruz Bay, St John, grab a 15 min taxi and go to Cinnamon Bay. It's our most beautiful beach in the world. Seriously.
If you wish to stay on St Thomas only, i found this link from 2/17 of a resort day pass review at Frenchmans: https://www.shermanscruise.com/articles/10-caribbean-resorts-with-day-passes/2-frenchman-s-reef-morning-star-marriott-beach-resort
Good luck!

We will be in St Thomas end of October 2018. Any suggestions of a nice hotel/beach day pass that will be suitable for kids age 6 and 9. I can’t seem to find any new reviews so not sure if ant are available. Thanks for any advise. :)

I was also going to ask the same question about if we had to pay for the dinner which my 9 and 6 year old grandsons will not eat which I think the first person was just expecting a yes or no answer. We have just returned from Getaway where there were a number of children on board and we had commented how well behaved these kis were in specialty dining and all the shows. So to the first question.... I just called NCL and they will let you know if you call them a few weeks before you cruise. Ours was to early to be told so if yours is before October and you call could you please post your answer. Cirque Dreams and Steam is not just an adult show. Kids will love it. It was amazing and we managed to see it twice in one week where there were many children in the audience.

I'm trying to get carnival to issue 2 refunds. One from back in Feb 2016 for shipping charges of $119.00 from Art Gallery. Then the other for $1346.00 from the Effy jewelry store. That's been since end of February 20I7. I had already turned the earrings to Effy in New York per their instructions and they keep telling me it's Carnival that will be refunding the money. I have been past around from department to department and not really ever been given an answer as to when these refunds are going to be made. I have given them until the end of this month then will hand this over to my American Express card to deal with. This was also our last ever cruise we will ever take on Carnival. Awful post cruise customer service.

Wasn’t my favorite island out of all of them but still beautiful. Antigua is amazing. As is Barbados. We will be going back again in December 2019 for the 10 day cruise with NCL. Girls cruise this past February was great going to Roatan Belize Cozumel and Costa Maya. Family cruise this October is just a 3 island stop As first time cruise for son daughter and grandkids so 3 days at sea Bahamas st Thomas and Tortola then girls cruise again in February For 9 days. It’s the only way to travel. Love it.
