  1. Consider Mantanuska Glacier NE of Anchorage. MICA Guides (micaguides.com) We are also GLAMPING at the foot of the glacier in outdoor tents. Rented a cabin in the Talkeetna area for 1 night. Also going to Mt. Alyeska (between Whittier and Anchorage) and take the tram to the top and also small hikes behind the hotel that have some cool things to do on the trails.

  2. We are going in May. We rented a car thru Juneau Car Rental Company. We are going to drive to Menenhall Glaciers on our own and spend as much time as we want. At 4pm we have a whale watching tour booked with Jayleen. We are going to drive and meet her where her boat leaves, it is 10 minutes from the glacier. My daughter just had ankle surgery and her doctor got her a handicap sticker. We will be bringing it with us.

Second that opinion. Don't overlook the possibility of renting a car and doing it your own. A one day car rental for us this coming May is $70 day. Entrance to Mendenhall Glacier is $5 per person. 15 minutes from port and you have GPS since we are in the states. We will be using Juneau Car Rentals near the port (a mile maximum). We have since added a whale watch tour on a 32 foot boat with a maximum of 6 people on the boat for 3 hours for $115 per person. Enjoy

  3. With you. 5 years ago when my wife and I were cruising out of Seattle, we got a phenomenal deal at the Westin (perfect downtown location) through Hotwire about 1 month out. I believe we paid $149 per night. It was a steal. We are going back again in May on a cruise ending in Vancouver, and spending 2 nights in Seattle before returning to Orlando. $300 not even touching a nice downtown location. Currently booked at a Courtyard near the airport- take a free airport shuttle from the hotel--and then ride the light rail downtown to do touristy stuff. Would love to be downtown, but currently have to take the "work-around" theory. Big dollars
