  1. We have been on Oasis and Allure several times and Harmony once recently.

We didn’t like Harmony’s Solarium as it did not have a pool and we felt not enough shaded areas in Solarium.

Allure also had a rib place which was extra $ but worth it.

For us, Allure would be our pick over the Harmony hands down.

  2. Good Morning,

Thank you for the replies....I saw this on Royal's website regarding the Crown Lounge (Diamond Lounge)...

"The Crown Lounge is an exclusive benefit for Diamond, Diamond Plus and Pinnacle Club members and cannot be extended to include friends and family. Each lounge provides a Concierge to assist with any special needs or requests during your sailing".

Is this no longer applicable or ship by ship, does anyone know?

    Thanks

  3. Saw on a post for Icon of seas about Diamond Lounge for D+ and up ?…and wondering

is it true Diamond members are not allowed in lounge for happy hour or is this ship specific?

    Do they enforce?

What if you are already in lounge before happy hour are they gonna ask you to leave?   I look forward to this time before our dinner.

    Thanks for info.

  4. My thoughts on Alaska

I cruised Alaska for the first time last June of 2022…I love warm weather too and majority of my cruises have been to warm climates.

While  the experience was different on an Alaskan cruise than Caribbean cruise, I’m glad we did the cruise but probably wouldn’t do another one to Alaska.

First I would never travel thru Vancouver again, it was a nightmare for us… took way too long at port/customs. I would go thru Seattle.

Yes,  it was cold (it’s Alaska) but dress warm.  A couple of ports it was lower 70’s.   The scenery was beautiful and reminded me of Colorado.  The fun part of this cruise was the preparation leading up to the cruise, deciding what clothes to bring, watching videos of Alaska,

What no one mentions on the forums is you have to get up very early (say 6:00-6:30) when you go thru the fjords (I think that is what it is called) or you will miss going thru it and miss the beauty of the landscape. We just took a nap afterwards.

The excursions are expensive so plan on that too.  We did a lot of walking at ports which was nice.

On the ship almost no one was at outdoor pool.

A lot of people sat around whale watching during sea days…which we only saw a tail of a whale.

Enjoy your family and the experience of trying something different.

  5. I was on the Oasis this past March as well and everyone has there own opinion and I too disagree with OP.  I have been on many Oasis class ships.  The March cruise on Oasis was the most fun cruise we have had.  We loved the entertainment (can’t comment on cats didn’t go).  The food was very good and I’m glad I didn’t listen to other reviews before I left on my cruise as we thought the food was excellent in MDR, Solarium and Windjammer.  Every cruise is subjective to peoples personal opinions and experiences.

Make the most of your time on the ship and enjoy!
