Does anyone know what the current smoking policy is for the NCL Epic? I have read statements on the NCL website but I specifically want to know if they have a separate smoking section in the casino?

I agree with many posts - it depends on the cruise company and the ship. Gatherings on the NCL Epic and NCL Breakaway were well attended but unfortunately meetings on the NCL Jade were not. From my experience having cruise with 10+ different lines, that NCL does a better job than others.

Hello. I've been cruising for many years. Overall I have always found fellow cruisers very accepting of my partner and I. I must however agree with Eddiffin's reply that being on an exclusive gay cruise is something special as one has an overwhelming sense of community (for once everything is gay an accepted - equivalent to how heterosexual people experience life everyday).

I have also cruised solo three times and I found Norwegian (NCL) much more geared towards the gay market than any other cruise line I've been on.

If your friend wants to cruise solo I suggest the NCL Epic or any of their Breakaway class ships. If he want to travel with friends but sill spend sometime with other gay cruisers, again I recommend NCL.

PS: You're an awesome friend being so open-minded and looking out for your friend!

My partner and I will be on the Norwegian Jade sailing from Venice on 20 June 2015. We only booked this trip about a month ago.

We will spend one night before and one night after the cruise in Venice.

I hope to meet some LGBT people on the ship.

I'm booked for the cruise departing NYC on 15 June. I tried the solo cabins on the NCL Epic last year and loved it. I hope the solo experience on the Breakaway will be as awesome.
