  1. Another vote for Ji-Ji's first! Like others have said, they are only on a few ships. We loved it and wish more ships had it. If you like/eat pork, then the braised pork belly is melt in your mouth level amazing!

And of course the Steakhouse is always a must-do for us.

  2. The foodie tour was outstanding. You should not eat before the tour as you get plenty of food while on the tour. The last stop was a restaurant where we made shrimp ceviche and you could buy food there if you wanted. They only accept cash, so if you decide to do the tour, take some cash for drinks and food over and above the ceviche. But at every stop, there was something to eat. Our tour guide also told us about the local sites while we were driving around the city and it was really a two in one tour - foodie and city tour. We even got to stop at the Belize sign and he took photos of us at the sign.

The tour took about 5 hours and I thought it was a good pace.

Thanks! That pretty much just sold me! And a double thank you for the heads up about taking cash. Super helpful.

  3. There is a flip side to every coin.

Last year we were celebrating our 15yr wedding anniversary. We cruise each year to celebrate. We decided to buy me a new ring as a gift for this one. We were on the Conquest. I had been window shopping the EFFY store on the ship the first few days. While in St Maarten we popped in to the EFFY store there. Found the ring I had fallen in love with on the ship, for literally the same price. We decided to purchase it there and couldn't have been more happy with the customer service both at the store on land as well as on the ship. The next day while wearing my new ring I got sunscreen down in the setting. I took it to the store on the ship and they cleaned it right up for me and made sure I was happy.

Moral of the story: Having a bad experience with a single purchase does not make an entire company crooks.

  4. The door will swing out. I would advise you not to use any means to keep the door open. When you do this it can potentially cause problems. The A/C that is being blown into your room is now having to strain to try to keep cool. If you happen to open your cabin door while your balcony door is held open, it creates a windstorm disaster. I understand wanting to keep it open to enjoy the fresh air, but it truly is not advisable at all.

  5. There is a breakfast/lunch/dinner buffet on Lido, Guy's Burgers, Blue Iguana Cantina (breakfast burritos and lunch), Sea Day brunch in the main dining room (my favorite), served breakfast on port days in the main dining room, and of course your nice dinner in the main dining room. Wow that's a lot when you list it! [emoji1] Also continental breakfast from room service. I'm sure I've missed something, but I think that covers most of it? Oh! Pizza and the deli too!

  6. We sailed her November 2015 and had one of our best trips yet! The staff was amazing. Our room steward went above and beyond for us, our wait staff was so sweet and funny. Never had problems getting a pool side lounger beside the waterfall pool on serenity (even in the middle if the day), I really could go on and on. The cruise director we had is now on another ship, but if you ever get the chance to sail with Jaimee Dee, do it! She's so sweet and full of life. I say book it! Oh, and the pork belly app in Ji-Ji's is to die for!

  7. I just wanted to tell you that I emailed the MDR today with the same request and asked for that table but I told them that any table would do by the balcony and low and behold they emailed me right back with confirmation. Was very surprised at how fast. So one less thing to worry about. Thanks again.

Yay! You will like it. And if it's the same Maitre D, he sings every night and it was the highlight of my evening. Usually Sinatra. [emoji7]

  8. I've been using these for years. They're made of thick PVC with strong braided steel loops for attaching. They never tear off. If you have time you can find them on Ebay for a couple of dollars each.

Another vote for the plastic ones! We switched to these last year. Love how strong the little cable is and how tough the plastic is.

Ill bring my own..i dont want to fall off the wagon.

I dont drink the shakes anymore, but I like the protien bars for a good shot of protien.

How did he do on a cruise..Im really worried about all the food!

Way to go!!! Definitely go into it with a plan. The best thing for us was just to split most things.

I think I've kept the shakes around because I'm super lazy most mornings and they become my breakfast. [emoji1]
