Any LGBT folks on this sailing? I'm traveling with 3 other gay friends. We are all in our 30s.

Never trust the time on your cell phone while on a cruise, ever...
A little trick for the time issue,, go into your Time and Date settings (under general on iPhones or iPads) and turn off 'Set Automatically' until you return to proper cell/wifi signal.

What does that mean?

It's still at the pool. We walked back to Spice and it was relatively peaceful - playing the scenic loop on the big screen.
Personally, I prefer the sail away party at Spice. Just a better atmosphere in my opinion.

I'm also on that sailing. Don't forget it's also Valentine's Day on the 14th. I'm thinking we will have a pretty full ship.

Thank you so much for doing this review! Feels like I'm right there with you! With Silas as the CD, do you recal if the Sail Away celebration was at the pool as it has been under Julie or was it moved to Spice H2O as it is on the Getaway?

I think it's the iPad Cruise Critic app. If you press on the screen and hold for about 2 seconds then release, a menu pops up. Tap 'More', then 'Web View,' the video will play.

Im on board now and Silas Cook is the CD. I believe he took over when Julie departed last week.
So jealous!! Have a great cruise!

Who is the new Cruise Director? I think the one who had been on the ship for every voyage prior to yours is on vacation.

So excited to see your posts!

So great! Making me want a GoPro for our sailing on the 13th.

Someone on here posted recently that if the cabin sleeps 4, bed is by balcony, and if it sleeps 3, it isn't. Others seemed to test that theory and agree, but I'm not sure if it's really fact or not.
That was me. Not true.

How long is her vacation?
-
Great!!! Thanks!

Oh, you're right. I must make gotten it confused with another. :-/ It doesn't specify.
-
Strange. Room details appears to be hit or miss. Some specify bed by balcony, some bed by entrance, and some nothing at all. 13870 is by balcony.
-
Interesting. I guess my theory isn't sound then.
As for your room question, try to book your exact room on another date. When I did that, more details indicate "bed by entrance" for 13136. The other cabins in my reservation (13134 and 13138) don't specify, so I would assume that means their bed is by the balcony. Those 2 also happen to sleep 4 via a pullman bed.
I too love the bed by the entrance. IMO it makes the whole balcony sofa area feel like your own living room at sea. Also, a nice tip we discovered on the Getaway... the clothes hangers in the closet fit perfectly in the curtain track. It was perfect for steaming clothes with our travel steamer as we prepared for the evening with the balcony door opened, watching the sunset, feeling the ocean breeze, and listening to some of our favorite music. Ugh, Feb 13th can't come fast enough!!
-
I'm noticing what seems to be consistently true is that balcony staterooms that sleep 4, (read, pullman bed) always have the bed nearest the balcony, and the sofa/pullman bed nearest the bathroom. Can anyone prove this theory wrong on the Breakaway/Breakaway Plus class ships?

Anyone else on this trip? My bf and I will be traveling with his parents and brothers. Wondering if Friends of Dorothy will have any showing. Almost cruise time!
-
Thanks for the pics. Xcell, did you have to request they open the dividers or were they opened on arrival?
-
Anyone have any recent experiences having the balcony dividers opened up on the Escape? I read that several cruisers were able to have them opened with no problem on early cruises and I am hoping this is still the case. We are cruising the Escape on Feb 13th with 3 balcony staterooms side by side on deck 12 that do not otherwise connect. Would love to be able to walk between the cabins on out own private promenade :)

I too would like to know this. We have 3 balcony cabins on the Feb 13th sailing, 13134, 13136, and 13138. I would love to know which of these have beds where.
