  3. Love Courtney!!! We used him in April and LOVED him! We tipped 20% of total charge. His prices saved us so much and to have a personal guide for the day, it was well worth it! Keep in mind, it's a little weird in the beginning, trying to find him just outside the port. But it's all good!

    Any do's or dont's you recommend ?

  4. Hi, throwing my two cents in about Courtney Taylor Tours. Used Courtney on recent stop in jamaica (6/22/13 sailing of Oasis of the Seas). He was all that everyone has written on the boards. Felt safe, persoanlized tour, talked about

Jamaica and it's people, really watches out for and values his costomers. Support the local guides! The cruise line makes enough $$!

good to hear this cannot wait till september lol

  5. At Blue Hole, I tipped the guides $20 for me & my DW ... There were 6 total (3 groups of 2) in our group and I think they tipped $10 or maybe $15.

Thank you for the info .

  6. If you dont mind me asking how much Coutrney charged you and what port were u docked at ?

We were docked at Ocho Rios, and as I said above, in post #273,

    :)

So how many of you were with Coutrney? because he is not booking for less then 4 person :(

  7. quote=quercus alba;38374352]It wouldn't surprise me if they start charging more for the Blue Hole--it's been getting more popular. Courtney remarked to us that he didn't think it was going to be a "hidden gem" much longer! (Though realistically, there's only so many vehicles they can get up that road!!!!)

  8. Actually if it is 2 to 4 people the price is $40/pp i think he might have miss typed as the prices for blue Hole is same for every one you can confirm it with him .. is should be $15/pp

My bad it is for minum 4 people $40/pp if less then 4 have to pay around $80/pp

  9. He did say if it was less than 2 ppl it would be 39/pp but wonder why blue hole would be different?

  10. The price last month (Apr-2013) was $15 / person & Courtney told me that there are actually 8 guides there. He said that Omar is the main one and his father owns the access point (gate) and adjoining land ...

And the guides will insist on taking picutres of you ... They'll also give you a heads up to switch to video when they'r planning some crazy stunt & trust me get your video ready because you'll be amazed at how nutz those guys are.

So $15/pp is for the guide or enterance to Blue hole ?

How much do you tip the guides or how much did you pay the guides at Drf

  11. I am going on sept 9... He quoted me 19/pp for blue hole and 29/pp for transport but I believe bc of the reviews I am going to try it ;)

Which port will you dock at ?

for 22nd september i have received a different price

  12. The prices in my post above were for having him all day as a private driver/guide for my family, and each activity was charged separately. So the $20 pp at DRF was just the admission into the park. There will be a lot of guides inside the park who will want you to pay them to escort you in a group up the falls--we skipped that and went up on our own. (Be forewarned--the group guides will get snippy with you sometimes if you're not in their group or with one of their buddies, but it's part of them trying to take care of their own little flocks usually. Also--the vendors inside the park are quite aggressive in their sales tactics as well!)

Any idea how much were the guides charging ?

Plus i am planning to carry my SLR camera is it a good idea or do you get wet trying to climb the falls?

  13. With Courtney, the $20 gets you into the park. If you want to hire one of the guides on the falls, that is extra, but our family just climbed up on our own. There were 6 of us total. We went tubing after that for $25/each, then to the Blue Hole $15 per adult and $10 per kid (plus tipping guides). Courtney took care of paying the fees and settled up at the end. He charged $35/Adult and $30/kid for the transportation. I bought him lunch and tipped a bit more at the end of the trip.

Courtney is a straight-forward, honest, and very pleasant guy. I'd book him again in a heartbeat.

If you don't mind me asking

He charges $20 to $25/ per person what dose that cover? how many hours ?

is $35/Adult is additional for transportation ?

$20 gets you in to botanical garden is that per person ?
