We're booked on Queen Anne for Xmas & New Year 2024,in a Queens grill suite, totally dismayed at seeing they have no windows in the bar area, the one thing we love doing on QV & QE is sitting having drink and looking out to sea,I can see us going to some other bar and mingling with the common people lol
Speechless!!

I agree with many of you views about QM2. It’s our least favourite too. Although enjoying the transatlantic voyage very much. Ballroom on vistas in our opinion so much prettier. Theatres too. I also really did not enjoy the lido offering on QM2. No direct see views and not being able to easily access outdoor areas to enjoy a snack in the fresh air.

On our QE Alaska cruise this year, there were blankets on the steamer chairs in promenade each day. Member if staff ok’d it for us to use one on our balcony.

I very much missed the Caribbean band who play at sail aways and later in the nightclub on our recent QE Alaskan cruise. Are similar groups on other queens?

I read on the Cunard website that it is one bottle of wine per adult. Is this not correct or is it just not enforced ?
Definitely not enforced and does not feel awkward.

As many as you like.

Also feel free to enjoy your wine or any other drink you take on board in your stateroom. We always take 6 bottles with no issues at all. Absolutely no need to declare.

I can honestly say you must have been on a different cruise to me, although I have just disembarked too! Our service was great. Cunard didn’t loose luggage, airlines did! I had avocado on two occasions and as for pyjamas in restaurant, really? At the very least folk had the ‘clothes’ they traveled in and as you say were given vouchers.

Yes, definitely Italian. La Piazza it was called, and very good too. They weren't functioning on QE in April, nor do they appear to be there on QM2 for our Med. cruise later this month. Such a shame.
I notice La Piazza was on the QM2 daily notices recently published on another thread

I prefer the smaller Queens for similar reason. I enjoy a snack in the lido and have the option of lovely window seats straight out to sea or on a nice day straight out to the back deck - non of which are available on QM2.

Okay, we have done our tests and both negative.
Medicspot did us a great service. So long as you work out your timings re U.K. time to your location it is fine. We had to do our test at 8am Denver time, which is 3pm in U.K. We were able to stand together so the observer could see both of us testing simultaneously.
There is a bit of faffing around after the test, but take it slow, make sure you have your 6 digit code to hand before the test and have your passport ready to show on the Zoom screen. After the test wait 15 minutes, take a photo of your result thing then just follow the instructions on your screen.
They say you will get the result within 2 hours. Ours were with us in less than 10 mins.
So a big thank you to everyone here for tips and hints for our testing. We definitely recommend Medicspot and will use them again for our next trip. In our dreams testing will be over soon!
Good luck to those of you who need to test soon.
That’s great to hear and very reassuring as we too have used this company for our 11th July boarding in Vancouver.

Thank you. I’ll be interested. We have booked a zoom for boarding in Vancouver

No, you aren't worrying unnecessarily. I would NEVER get tested shoreside in Canada. We have to register with Canada and sign a form that makes us follow their VERY stringent quarantine policy if we test positive there. I would ONLY test before going into Canada. Also, when you disembark the ship, if you then test for Covid to be able to fly/return home, you will have ZERO support from Cunard and be subject to the very strict requirements of the Canadian government. We will only test on the QE before disembarking so that, if we test positive, Cunard is responsible for helping us get home, legally and financially. So no, your worry is well founded. Sorry for the downer.
For anyone doubthing this, Google "ArriveCAN" and research yourself. It's a very scary registration policy that you'll be required to complete.
Unfortunately we have to test before embarking in Vancouver as we arrive 4 days before cruise commences.

Yes there is still live music onboard (there has been since August 13th 2021)
Everything is still the same , at Sailaways , Queens Room, the Golden Lion Pub and the late night venues.
Brilliant. Thank you Bell Boy. I love having a bit of lunch at pavilion pool on QE and QV with a bit of live music.

Can anyone tell me from any of the Queens, are the bands that would normally play at sail aways and in the nightclub on board?

I had a conversation today with Cunard with ref to folk being bumped off. She said she could not guarantee anything about Alaska voyages as the struggle is with staffing. I also asked what the procedure would be if our observed test came back positive prior to boarding in Vancouver The answer was you will need to be guarded by Canadian Gov site and their requirements. I could not get clear clarification as how our return flight would then be managed. I honestly am regretting booking. Am I worrying unnecessarily?

Thanks for that. We fly out on 10th July Man-LHR-Vancouver. Will you test before you go or in Canada?
In Canada as we fly out on 7th

we have plenty of places to get tested in the UK. Our problem is timings and that for boarding in Canada we have to have a private observed test, either a PCR 72 hours before, or an antigen test a day before. I test regularly for work, but can't use that for the cruise. Ho hum, it will get sorted!
I think we are in same cruise as you. I’m buying this one. Fit to fly observed £19.99. My friends just used on different line from Canada and said all worked fine 🤞

I'm not sure what 'consider the offer they are providing' might mean. Certainly my latest cruise was no less enjoyable than previous ones, and the restrictions and constrains I imposed on myself were considerably more onerous than those imposed by Cunard.
I was referring to your comment about the Verandah not being open and other comments from other posters with reference to laundrette, nightclub, world club parties ……..

On QE on the 3-15 cruise, I overheard a conversation (not in any way private) to the effect that the Grills were pretty much full, Britannia about 75%. Don't know about staff, but they certainly couldn't open the Veranda because of lack of staff.
I think Cunard need to consider the offer they are providing. I appreciate it’s difficult with Covid but how many events/facilities can be cancelled and it still be a special experience.

Also, they like using the same shots again. The shot of the bell boy with has hand on the staircase at ~0:13 in the Alaska video appears in this week's Queen Anne 7 minute video at ~7:11. I don't know why they like that shot so much! I've only seen the bell boys in the Cunard red uniform on the Queen Mary 2. Do they also wear it on the QE and QV?
They do indeed. Bell boys certainly not exclusive to QM2!

Well the issue is a minefield ! We love dancing and go to evening dances and do Sequence Dance ( everyone on the floor do the same steps and go round in a circle ) which is great as everyone has their own space ... however it can't be used as a " lets join in and follow " as there are specific steps and routines and having a person in front of you banging into you and causing mayhem is not a fun option. On QM2 we had someone hosting but although they explained to oversea passengers what Sequence dancing was , they ignored the advice and blocked the floor and made themselves a nuisance ... And .... generally the evening ballroom dance is not a place to practise your competition moves and to swirl, and kick up legs etc.. its supposed to be for ALL and don't be put off as you have paid for the experience so stand firm and don't let these selfish people intimidate you ..
Well said Koonard.

In my experience the lido is designated adult only but not enforced.

I wish they were a little clearer on their facts. I think a little bit more research would not have been a bad idea.
