  1. presidents cruise, one and done!  Yea, chaka sucked. what was with the sniffing into the mike and no attention span as her on stage people had to keep her on track. If she was so good, why did more than 1/2 leave early, like after 2/3 song of screaming. Who ever approved and selected this from

rccl should reimburse the company from their own pocket.

  2. currently on MYJESTY, people are p----, especially d/d=/p in suites, only 3 on seapass card where d/d=/p or

suite gets 3 drinks, question is why not suite and statues combined, really a major cluster.

At least tonight the mixed drinks were a little more than the min. of 1 oz and 2 inch for wine.

A number are looking at switching out to something else( Galvaston) or a couple have fully refundable and may go this route. Lots have emailed Bayley and crown anchor but no response yet.

Apparently mgt o/b have not heard anything yet as a few asked me if i heard anything from

Miami. Very short sighted unless they want to crush this ship and its customers.

Waiters are really hurting as fewer in viking lounge and fewer drinks mean fewer tips.

  3. This sounds good for those of you who are really good at tech.. us average dinosaurs

are lost. oh, did you try to print anything? Good luck as there are no computers or printers for

customer use.  The diamond lounge has a built in area for 2 computers and a printer with

electrical all hooked up---no equipment. DL looks nice seats 50.

We were B/B and were not impressed with the changes. We will look elsewhere.

  4. currently on the anthem and had our cc meeting. About 70-80 present and we listened to Dennis's rcl promotion. some interaction but no offer

to pass the mike and limited questions. When it came to raffel time, only 2 bundled gifts of hat, pen, and other small items. NO ADULT BEVERAGES, a first

for us and we were on Athem in Jan and not a problem, oasis in feb not a problem. I was told this is old policy and now being enforced per Miami, no wine

to be raffeled. What is going on the other ships? Is this a budget excuse? Limit the gifts and limit the people to "0"?

  5. rather than start a new thread---just got off the oasis, which is a one and done but i will only post about the MDR. there is no dress code on any night. Our table was near the entrance on deck 5 and i could not notice what was coming in. I have only seen more baseball caps and jeans at a baseball game or NASCAR event. every night we had all types of shorts, flip flops, t shirts, women in torn jeans, dirty pettle pushers and generally what you would see at a fast food dive. Here it is , what we have been waiting for---on night 3 a older man comes in wearing a swim suit, flip flops, a dirty torn t shirt and a soiled baseball cap. He sat 4 tables away. NO ONE SAID ANYTHING TO ANYONE AND YES WE HAD SHORTS,JEANS, AND HATS ON FORMAL NIGHTS.

  6. RCCL created a monster with too many diamond members, and too easy to reach this level. Thus, this is probably the first step to change the lounge to diamond plus and above. The diamond members will be limited to the three drinks on their sea pass. Remember when you only got beer and wine and fountain drinks as diamond? I also think they will have to change the requirements to reach diamond and diamond plus and perhaps add another tier between diamond plus and pinnacle.

  7. i brought this thread back up yesterday, active on page 1, as a convenience for Mr. Bayley's staff to have easy access to read our concerns about the lack of enforcement of the dress code. I also included a couple of other links with a similar topic.

Yes there is a dress code. No swim ware allowed at any time in MDR.

No shorts, bare feet, flipflops, tank tops, or hats allowed in the evening.

the suggested dress is for each evening, ie casual. smart casual, and formal. Casual evening can include jeans, t shirts, sandals, tennis shoes etc. Smart casual is dress pants, collared shirts, ladies slacks, blouses, etc. Formal nights can be smart casual but they prefer a little more dressy with suits, etc.

Still NO SHORTS, HATS, FLIP FLOPS,OR TANK TOPS.

In discussing the inconsistency of enforcement from ship to ship, this is something they will be addressing with top management. I did offer some observations and constructive ideas to advise all guests what is expected in their dress in the MDR and how to approach the few who refuse to use alternative venues where there is no dress code.

I realize there are some other areas of inconsistency from ship to ship, thus we have a LOVE/HATE relationship. Yes the love is stronger as we continue to book RCCL.

As i said before, if you do not want to wear long pants, WEAR A DRESS.

  8. does any one have the current actual breakdown for each crew member, ie waiter, asst. waiter, headwaiter, dinning room manager, stateroom attendant, etc? rccl only gives broad breakdown and refuses when asked to give details. we have also been told, both royal and celebrity, take a cut for administration and pool the gratuities for distribution. we usually allow one person gratuity to remain on account and cancel the second and take this amount, ie 10 days at $13.50 equals $135.00 and distribute this in cash to the staff that we feel does an adequate job. example, if the head waiter only comes around on the next to last night he will get very little if any. We also tip the bar staff and diamond/suite staff as we go.

  9. Patience--lots of talk that this will change in the near future and the diamond lounges will be diamond plus and above. the diamond members will only have drinks on their sea pass cards and no access to the lounge. Royal has created a monster and it is getting too big and unmanageable. All you have to do is talk with the lounge managers and ask their take on the whole thing, and or take a t/a with 1200-1500 diamond and above on board. It is way to easy to get to diamond and too large a gap from diamond plus to pinnacle.

  10. rcl daily planner states,"bare feet, shorts pants, and tank tops are not permitted at dinner". when rcl changes this then this issue will go away, until then this should be enforced. if it is not i would suggest a comment to the dinning room manager. if he refuses to support his staff and does not stop those refusing to adopt to the dress code by offering them to go to the Windjammer or room service, i suggest you send an email to rcl in miami, se rcl website for link. anyone on the explorer can ask the dinning room manager, if he is still there, DINC, how he liked getting a call from Mr. Michael Bagley in Miami recently.
