    Ah ok thanks for that.

I forgot to mention that I had applied for mine in mid-December, prior to the extension from January 10 to April 10.  Actually, it wasn't easy peasy.  Initially, the format in which I submitted my passport was rejected, so I resubmitted my passport in proper format. That was in mid-December. Several weeks later my photo was rejected.  I then decided to have my photo taken at Walgreens.  When I attempted to replace the photo under the "photo" section, I could not "save and continue."  I was ready to give up.  Then someone on this forum with the same issues, suggested uploading the new photo under "other documents" and then, tah-dah, it was saved and uploaded.  That was way beyond the 10-day deadline to upload rejected documents. I uploaded my new photo 4 days ago.

Thanks. Is that one or both if you have a partner? Sorry for the questions but there doesnt seem to be a pattern. It will help others if they arent getting theirs to at least question the process.

I actually applied before my husband.  We wanted to make sure the process was going to work before paying out the second $80 fee for his application.  I actually don't need it because we are entering prior to April 10.  However, since we already had spent that much time in the application process, I wanted to follow through in case we return within the next 10 years.

So, that was just 4 days after you uploaded your photo and 1 day after yours said approved?

Yes, 4 days after my was photo uploaded.  I checked the VFS website again on Monday, and that was the first I noticed it was in the "approved" status.  I assume it was not approved over the weekend.  Mine was issued by the Chicago consulate.

  4. Mine also says "approved."  So, what does that really mean?  Does it mean my visa has been approved or is it just moving on to the next step for review by Brazilian consulate?  I really don't need it since we're entering prior to April 10, but I figure I've gone through all the hassle and they won't refund the money, so I might as well complete it in case I want to go back in the next 10 years.

I have probably uploaded 3-4 different pictures at this point. All rejected. They respond to me quickly every day with useless inconsistent generic messages "upload 2x2" "no selfie" "white background" "no glasses" "413x531 pixels"............

Uploading replacement documents is also very stupid and non-intuitive. You cannot simply replace or delete and re-upload.  If you do that, the form never lets you save and resubmits it for re-review. I have now just started putting my "new" replacement photos in the "Other Uploads" section at the bottom which will then allow me to re-save.

Thank you, it worked!  I was now able to "Save and Continue" by uploading the photo to the "Other Uploads" section.   My status now shows pending document uploaded.  Who would have ever thought?  Why don't they tell you to do this?

I am having the same issues with my husbands.  Sent new pictures two weeks ago.   Ages ago, I needed to resend two items.    I heard back the next day it was approved.   We leave tomorrow.   We don’t need the visas but since I paid, I want them!

Did you resend the new photos when then requested them?  Or did they approve the visa without sending in the new photos?  I can't "Save and Continue" so I'm just waiting it out and hoping my visa will actually be processed.

Make sure the file is < 1 MB. Our original from FedEx had to be resized.

Will that still allow photo to upload but not "Save and Continue"? I can see that it appears to have uploaded.

Walgreens may have it on their computer to send it to you. Easier to upload their passport photo onto VFS website, I hear.

Uploading issues has been the problem, that’s why they extended the date for applications.

I’d ask for my money back from them.

I have uploaded the digital photo Walgreen's sent to me. It uploads, but I can't save and continue.  I asked for my money back from VFS  but they told me no refunds. If we don't get the visa,  I guess we'll have to contest payment with our credit card.

I doubt you are doing anything wrong. Their website is a disaster on

multiple levels. If you plan on going back to Brazil in the future, it is worth getting the visa. If not I wouldnt drive myself crazy trying. So are you suggesting each document is vetted at different times? You can be asked for documents on different emails? That is concerning because we are trying to create a timeline. When did you submit originally?

Original  application was submitted and fee paid approximately Dec. 17. In email on Dec 21, I was asked to resubmit my scanned passport which I immediately did. On Jan. 13, I received email where I was asked to submit a new photo.

I was thinking I  would follow through with application since I may return to Brazil some day. Thankfully, my husband hasn't submitted his application yet

  10. I submitted my application and was rejected because of my passport.  I scanned my passport properly and then resubmitted and have been waiting for my visa approval. Now my photo has been rejected so I went to Walgreen's to get a new photo. I have uploaded my Walgreen's photo. It's 600x600 px. I can't "Save and Continue". I get the message that I need to upload documents requested in email when I attempt to save and continue. I've even tried different browsers.  Has anyone had any success calling the help line in Arlington, VA?

Any comments what I need to do or may be doing wrong?

I really don't need the visa now since the date has been extended to April 10. But thought I might as well follow through since VFS has my $80.

“Really” cold is also relative. What’s cold to this Texan is not so much to someone from Minnesota. Layers for sure and prepare for wind and rain.

We're from Minnesota and have been having high temps in the 30's this past week.  We're anxious for 50's this coming week!  Now going from 80's in Minnesota to 50's in July would be cold. It's all relative.

  12. If you are looking for a budget hotel, we stayed at the Ibis King Street Wharf and the Megaboom for budget. We were very pleased with both,

Next time, we are staying budget again at the Harbour Youth Hostel which is located at The Rocks. It receives very good reviews.

  13. Looking for Hotel recommendations in Sydney near the Overseas Passenger Terminal and/or Circular Quay that won't break the bank. Thanks![/quote

We just reserved two nights at the Ibis Sydney King Street Wharf for February, 2018, It's a budget chain hotel and we have breakfast included. Most reviews give it a very good review for its excellent location despite the small rooms, but who spends time in the room when in Sydney. It appears to be about .8 mi. from the Overseas Passenger Terminal. We pack light, so plan to walk to the cruise terminal.
