YVRteacher, I have enjoyed so many of your reviews.  I lost my Dad a month ago.  Your report has brought a few tears.  Our Dads seem to be very similar.  The spa story was hilarious.  I can tell how much you enjoy your time with him!

I have been following your live reports, Thank You!  I agree with Richyak, the sail into Montenegro is not to be missed.  It’s an experience I visualize often. My Med cruises (2) have been phenomenal.

I am loving your review.  I have been to Paris and am learning so many new things for a return trip.  We are headed to London in a few weeks, anxiously awaiting that part of your trip.

We spent a wonderful day with Ingrid from Kultours.fr. I read many wonderful reviews prior to the booking and feel fortunate that we were able to spend a spectacular day with her. She worked with us prior to the day to determine our route. Her knowledge of the area and local history made it very memorable. I hope you get to spend a day with her.

I have not been to Sarande. Kotor & Taormina were two of my favorite ports on our Mediterranean cruise. The sail into Kotor was phenomenal!

Make sure that you are out on deck for the sail into Kotor. It was absolutely beautiful. Once there we strolled through town. We had some friends find a beach and hang out and others that did the climb up the hill.

I am from the Seattle area as well so certainly understand the need for sun. I vote the Med. I went for the first time two years ago with my Mom and S-daughter. It was an amazing trip. My husband and I are heading back in early May. We had originally booked the Caribbean and changed it. I am so happy we did. I did a ton of research for the first trip and now for this one as well. We recently booked the Opera leaving Messina May 17th. Wondering if anyone has any tips on the Opera or will be sailing with us. I started a roll call but it hasn’t had any activity.

I travelled the Med two years ago on Holland America and loved Sicily. That experience led to searching Cruises starting or ending in Messina. That search resulted in MSC.

We did a private tour with Ingrid with Kultours.fr. We got to see Nice, Eze, and Monte Carlo. Excellent. :)

We did as well. It was a wonderful day. Ingrid is fantastic.

This was one of my favorite stops on our Med cruise last summer. We hired a cab and had them take us to Taromina. It was a wonderful day! Beautiful town with great views. We just wandered and enjoyed the sights.

We did a Med cruise last year and did four tours. We asked two of the four guides to join us. In all cases it worked out very naturally. We had a wonderful time hosting the two guides and did not feel awkward about not inviting the other two.

I would play it by ear and see how you are feeling at the time.

Kat - I am hoping you have convinced your husband and really hoping that you are looking at the July 3rd NA Med Tapestry, Barcelona to Venice. I am beginning to feel like we will be all alone on this trip. :) Our group of three includes myself, my Mom and step - daughter. It is the first time to Europe for all of us. I have cruised with HAL previously.
