I have an excursion booked later in the day that starts around 3. Need to figure out what to do beforehand. What is nearby the port area that’s easy to and from? Open to anything really whether it be beaches or restaurants.

Alcatraz/Angel Island: I'm assuming you did this on your own and not a ship excursion? Which did you do first, Alcatraz or Angel Island, and would you do it that way again? TIA! :)
I will be doing the trip next week so I will let you know how it worked out. But we booked the excursion from https://www.alcatrazcruises.com their ferry leaves from the pier pretty much next to where to ship docks.

Franciscan Crab House near Fisherman’s Wharf
(I’m a local)
I was looking at their menu earlier today might be a front runner :)

Just curious if anyone has a favorite spot that is close to the pier where we would dock in San Fran. Doing Alcatraz/Angel Island during the day and would like to find a good spot to eat before heading to the Giants game at night. Any recommendations are appreciated :)

Thank you for the info. Might have to suck it up and do an excursion to see a few things then bar hop the riverwalk afterwards.

So I just realized that Astoria does not have uber/lyft in the area which is amazing to me but anyway. What are the options for getting around? I see some disagreement on whether or not the trolley runs after Labor Day. We will be in town the 22nd which at least is a Saturday. Are cabs readily available at the port? I was hoping to see the column and the beach and bar hop but without uber I have concerns. :(

So sad to hear of this news. He will be missed.

It seems harder to redeem them now even when they are available. The last 2 cruises I booked we couldn't use them based on how our booking was done. Very strange.

Thank you for sharing. We will be on the Explorer in Sept and it's nice to see recent pictures.
-
I would not book that flight between getting off the ship and then dealing with the airport mess.

If you look at what excursions you can do at Resorts World you should be able to get an idea what they have going on. There should be a good amount of snorkeling/scuba options for one.

This is great if the ships are going to stopping in Bimini they need the money so bad on that island.
If anyone does go I highly recommend stopping at Big Game, nice view awesome drinks and food.

Belltown Inn is where I stayed on my last 3 trips.
That’s where we are staying the day before.

Yes, for us it was pretty punctual. It may have gone over slightly, but not too much.
Good to hear. We are in port till 6 so that’s plenty of time to go explore afterwards.

I did end up booking the #2 tour through them for our cruise in May.
Do you remember what time the tour was over, was it near the 2:30 time they post on their site?
-
Has anyone done either of these tours recently? Just curious if these folks are up and running smoothly again. We don't sail till May so I'm hoping things are in a little bit better shape by then.

We just got off the Indy, I believe my husband took pics. There really was nothing new on them that stood out to me. I'll see if he can post them.

Just sailed on her night 2 is correct.

I'm on this sailing and can't wait to go. This doesn't concern me at all just have to be mindful of washing hands and trying not to touch railings and what not (which I do anyway with or without news like this).
-
Sounds cool if it will work. Hope they have a different IT team that isn't in charge of their website working on it. :)

Don't know if it's the best but she does sail by the Fort McHenry Park there.
Need some morning early afternoon advice
