I go on my own and I am disabled. It was scary the first time I went on my own, but felt comfortable after a few days. I’m off to Caribbean in October on my own. Once you’ve done your first Cruise, they’ll be no stopping you go. Everyone chats to you.

On the first sea day, and other sea days, they organise solo travellers coffee mornings, usually 10 o’clock. These are in the horizon, which is the daily mini paper which you’re given each evening to let you know what is happening the next day on board. Always check in the Horizon.

Hi all solo travellers. I have done 3 cruises with P& O but didn’t realise they had a table for solo travellers. Have any of you been on Oceana and on a singles table? Thanks.

I did my first solo cruise on Oceana. I was seated on a solo’s table on first sitting. I met some lovely people who became friends, who I’m still in touch with 6 years on. We were always the last out after dinner, always laughing. Had a great time.

You can just order a birthday cake. I did. I phoned P&O and ordered it for when we were on board. I’m sure I saw a teddy cake.

Hi i am sure this has been asked before but we are looking to book a balcony on a transatlantic cruise on Britannia in October sailing from Southampton and would like to know which side if any would i be best booking for the sun to sit on balcony and get a tan

Thank you for reminding me. There were many coffee mornings for solo travellers but that was it. I got chatting to the the other travellers and seemed to join in with them to go off and see the ship. They had demonstrations which were good. I went to the shows. I use a scooter and got off the ship at ports to investigate. I find everyone so friendly. I’ve booked another 2 cruises on Britannia for October this year and August next year. I still get nervous every time I go, but once I’m on board, that seems to disappear. I’m one of the ones that likes Britannia. I tried the afternoon tea in the Epicurean restaurant and evening dinner in there. I know they cost, but I loved both. Will be trying others when I’m on there next time. There’s a lot to explore on board and to see. Hope you enjoy your cruise. Please let me know Lynninnotts how you get on.

No, definitely P&O charged the extra money. I went back and checked invoice. Also, I booked a different cruise straight away but cheaper than the one I cancelled.

I cancelled last month for a cruise next October 2018. I lost deposit plus £100 which P&O charged on top. I thought just the deposit would be lost, but was charged on top. Please could you put on the answer, when you receive it. Would love to know what they say. I booked with a TA, and this was also on the invoice sent to me.

It happened to me. I had to try 2 different cards before it would accept. Received a letter asking me to go to reception.

I'm on a 2 nighter, and I'm assuming that the formal night would be the first night, as on the second night, we would have to put the cases outside the cabin, like on a longer cruise.

I've just paid for an upgrade on an early saver fare. Cabin had been allocated as well. I assume that paying more for a different cabin is ok.

We didn't drop anchor there a couple of weeks ago on Britannia. Too windy and sailed home straight away.

Recently just been on Britannia as a solo traveller on mobility scooter, you'll need to check on the daily new sheet left in cabin, as they will announce for you to go to or ring reception to request a time to get off. Then the steward will leave a sheet in your cabin telling what time and where to go for disembarking. It was in the Limelight club for assistance when I was on there. They had started helping people off from 8am.

I just logged on to the military site, and it said, No end date". Same discounts as before with OBC?

Where did you read this information? I had looked on their website, and it still has the same info as before. Nothing says the amounts of military OBC is changing, I'm interested as I wanted to see what the new amounts are, as I have a cruise booked.
