We’ve ordered Randox tests. Done via video. Easy.

I was looking into this option but I see the verification is via the app (video ) -- but the app only requires a picture of the passport and then of the test result? Is this ok for the certificate that NCL will accept?
The FAQ says that the "Lateral Flow Test (Randox CertiFly)" is not a supervised test -- or is there another video-supervised option that I'm missing?

  2. I have some questions as to how it works now that the minutes for Free At Sea are 150min for 2 guests. So the credit given if one passenger chooses to purchase the upgrade should be less, but you'd keep the login with the 150min for the second passenger.

Is the price given online to prepurchase the upgrade different to the price onboard (for the first day)? Would there be any advantage to doing this onboard? (credit applicable to a different plan? credit might be used for the plan for 2 devices?)

  3. Would using the ferry independently work with port times 6am-1pm (for NCL ENCORE next week - March 24th)?

Could we take 7:45a ferry to VG and 11:30a back to Road Town or would it be too tight/risky on the way back?

I read some past threads but they are from a few years ago, hoping someone might have a more recent experience...

  4. Rebates are a sensitive topic and certainly cruise lines don't encourage it to protect pricing integrity.

RSSC does have certain guidelines about "amenities", perhaps this link will be useful.

    https://www.rssc.com/media/hostedfiles/PDF/AntiRebatingPolicy.pdf

Regarding protected commission for travel agencies for itineraries cancelled by the cruise line: I understand RSSC is honoring this but we shouldn't expect this to always be the case or for them not to change the guidelines. This is of course something separate from whatever agreement a client might have with their travel advisor.

Silversea for instance has updated this and will only honor commission for the sailing that they cancel if the client chooses the FCC instead of the refund

    regards!

Correct. For 2021 cruises, the old rules still apply. It’s only those of us who paid deposits or pre-paid cruise fares ages ago that are getting cheated. Interesting, eh? They’ve had the free use of our money for all this time and this is how they say thank you?

Yes, the problems seem to be with later 2020 cruises but I do see the website  It's appalling, really: recent bookings (after March 9, 2020) have better conditions and older bookings are being retroactively DENIED the original conditions they were booked under.

Regarding 2021 bookings, the website seems to give conflicting info on the FAQ and on the new updated policy page.

  6. This is also what we are being told for 2 bookings for September 2020: that the new penalties (no refund) apply.

It is completely unacceptable: the penalties indicated at time of booking were that there was only the $100 administrative fee if cancelled prior to 120 days out and now they intend to issue FCC for most of the deposit.

This is a sure way of guaranteeing that the travel agent partners will make sure not to do any business with them ever again!
