  2. Hi Linda, sorry to hear of such a sad story from you, i was on the fb thread you were on about and it started off by just discussing price of AI, and then i commented on the prices, we were on majesty 30may till 6th june and our bar bill came to or would have been around £500 for 2 of us, that was including lagers beers cocktails shorts and soft drinks and coffees, so i didnt think it was too bad, but some one actually asked about paying £1600 for 4 people for 2 weeks which i worked out isaround £30 a day which i think is a good deal relly without making a pig of yourself, i must admit i like to have a few drinks to wind down but spread them out through the day. so apologies if you got upset Linda.

    take care

    Paul xx

  3. Looking at the long range weather forecast for the first week in June and it gives torrential rain on one day yet an hour down the coast blazing sunshine!

Is this typical of the area?

Strolling around the Prom deck in my Speedo thong whilst sporting a half furled umbrella is a look i'll be trying to avoid!;)

when are you on board, we sail on friday 30th.flying from glasgow

  4. Not on AI this time :(

Will grab a couple of hours with you at the topsiders.

Are you going to the magic weekend at the home of the champions? :D

    Should be a cracking match.

no not going Noe, im not a big beleiver in it, home and away games and cup and play off games are enough without making more expense for supporters, even though its good value for money. but this is the rugby league for you, and i think we might get a thumping by the whinos, we have most of our 1st team missing, but you never know.

  5. Great timing, we're on Majesty at the end of this month!:)

I understand from another thread that eating arrangements on Thomson ships have changed since we last cruised with them in 2010?

Then I think we could.....have breakfast till around 10.30am, lunch for a couple of hours from 12 noon, afternoon tea and cakes at 4 with burgers, sausages, chips also available. A few hours respite until the evening meal and for those who could manage it there were curries and burgers available around midnight till the early hours.

I'm particularly interested in the late night availability, particularly if we get an early sitting for dinner!

    what date you sailing Tarquin?

  6. We did the bridge tour on the Dream in 2011 and it was while in port in Ajaccio. We went off the ship in the morning and did the tour around 1pm. (I only know this as I checked the times on my photos!:) Memory is not that good!)

i done a free tour on majesty last july, i cant remember if it was when we got back to corfu or the day before, im almost sure it was the last day but think it was the thursday in katakalon

  7. Totally agree with that one Jules..... 9am is late on a sea day for a sunbed.

You need to be having breakfast around 8ish on any ship, leave it closer to 9am and you will find it's really busy.

I am actually knackered after coming back from this cruise, the late nights/ early mornings and getting the bad cold that was going around on the second week has floored me, I need another holiday to get over it.

DW said the hairdryer was fine for her.

Yes Paul, we met up for the occasional late night shandy with Kev ;) He's a good laugh isn't he. Do you know him from the last cruise? I didn't think he was on in last July when we were both on.

yes thats where i met him Joe, i had been asking about sailaway party on facebook , and he actually came over in the airport at mcr, he recognised me with the wigan top on lol.

  8. We are going on the majesty in the summer and just wondering if you give them cash when you get on the ship if you want to buy anything or if it has to be a card? Things like bingo and the casino do you pay up front for or does that come off your final bill too?

    Emma

the casino is the only place on board where you can use cash, at least it was last year, hope this helps.

  9. Hello all!

Just wondered if anyone knows which port Thomson Majesty docks in Venice? I am looking into DIY transport to St Mark's and I have come across two possible port options.

Also looking for any advice from people who have done this before. What was your experience and would you recommend it?

    Thanks for your help. :)

    when are you on board?

    Paul

  10. Altonia, although we book through an independent TA we can still view and book excursions online as we still have a booking reference no.

hi sheila49, just seen your reply to Altonias thread and wondered which TA you booked through, we booked through Co-op travel in whitehaven (thomas cook now) and cant seem to get on to a site to book excursions, any help would be appreciated .

  12. Try this, Sweby.

    https://www.********************/thomsoncurises/

It is a private group, not the official Thomson FB page, so you have to apply to join but it doesn't take long.

As Linda said, make sure you turn your privacy settings very high to friends only or to yourself only.

    Missing words from url (facebook.com)

theres also a thomson majesty group and dream as well i think, again both closed groups.

  13. Just booked for Adriatic Explorer May 2nd. Can anyone recommend a quiet cabin. Prefer midships due to DH motion sickness. Always wanted this itinerary and it's heavy discounted. So excited!!

Sent from my iPad using Forums mobile app

we were on deck 3 last year, although ours was an outside plus cabin, it was pretty quiet, was either 334 or 344, always get them mixed up lol, also my wife gets very sea/motion sickness(had to take her off a lilo in ibiza) and tbh it never bothered her once last year in july on pearls of the aegean, and they say adriatic explorer is much more calmer , we are doing said cruise on 30th may, hope this helps.
