Irons are not allowed on board, but I never heard anything about curling irons. I have also brought one. I talked to someone at NCL about travel irons and was told they are not allowed but your room steward will let you borrow an iron and board for a couple of hours to press your clothes. All you have to to do is ask them.

My DH and I will be on the Jewel March 28th. Hope we are lucky enough to have Tim back on board as cruise director. A great director makes all the difference and Tim sound as if he's just that. I don't think we have him on any of cruises but would like to meet him. This will be our 2nd time on the Jewel and 8th NCL cruise. We adore freestyle cruising!

Is there a daily charge to use the spa on the Jewel? We may not be interested in purchasing a weekly charge. I realize that the specialty services are all an additional cost. What I want to know about is the daily charge and what you can use that does not include the extra services.

We will be in the very front on the Jewel in March 11500.
This will be our first experience this far forward. Actually we prefer the aft, but there were none available.
What puzzles me is how could it be as bad as I read about from some when the most expensive cabins are in front (penthouses, suites, garden villas etc) Seems like if it
was all that bad in front and you were rocking and reeling the whole trip they would never be able to keep them filled. As a rule the caribbean is much calmer than the pacific.
I would never book a far forward cabin while cruising Hawaii. When we were on the Star in Hawaii, that ship was all over the place and you could not even walk down the halls without flying from one side to the other.

I'm glad to hear there are a few people who liked the front., since we will be #1 on the Jewel on deck 11 as far forward as you can get. I can't imagine that it could be that terrible being that most of the expensive cabins are in the front. The caribbean is normally calm in March and April.

I notice that the most expensive cabins..Penthouses, Garden Villas and Romance are in the very front of the ship. I can't imagine anyone spending that kind of money if they were going to be rocking and reeling all week. I know for sure that Hawaii would not be a good place to be in a far forward cabin, because you do get rough seas, but what about the Caribbean? Any time we have been to the Caribbean the seas have been pretty calm. I think when you go would be a factor. We are going in March.

What do you prefer and why..the very front or the very back (aft). I would especially like to hear from people who have been in far forward (1st one) cabin. That is where we will be on our next cruise on the Jewel (Deck 11)
Thanks

We have always packed a bottle of wine in our checked luggage and have never been stopped. I wrap it up good in bubble wrap put it in a ziplock bag and tuck it away in my clothing. I already have a bottle packed for our cruise we are leaving for on Sunday. :) This will make or 9th cruise with NCL! We love freestyle. :) :)
