One would decline both.  Take a cab to the Marriott, for a better day experience. .  No T’erds….etc.

Port Royal, is the water at the Marriott easy entry?  As a woman of a certain age, drops, large waves and such are problematic for me. It looks lovely, however, thanks for the recommendation.

Oh forgot to add the date.  Jan 23, 2021

Something to think about is you also have suite perks as well...........priority embark/debark/tendering.  Priority reservation in the spa, dining room etc.  Free laundry. There may be more I'm sure you can look it up. I don't think your offer is a bad price (I don't know what you originally paid).  Again, only you can assess the value for you.  I think it would make it a "special" cruise, and I hope you make awesome memories whatever you decide to do!

  3. What ship are you on and when is it sailing?  That would influence my decision.  Personally, I think a suite might be really nice during this covid period .......a place to hang out other than public areas without your mask.  But this is my opinion, and only you know the value of having more room..........inside and outside on your balcony.  Whatever you decide, have a great cruise!

  4. To help you plan, we suggest you limit your luggage to a maximum of one bag per person, if traveling on cruises of 3-5 days duration, and no more than two bags per person, for cruises of 6 days or longer. In addition, you must personally carry-on any boarding documentation (passports, Visas, I.D), valuables, medications and items which require special handling.

Guests who are scheduled to arrive at the terminal before 1:30 PM, usually check their bags with a porter so they can be free to enjoy lunch on Lido Deck before access to their stateroom is granted.
I think it's pretty clear.......from the Carnival website.
Checked baggage service is only available until 2 hours before the ship's published sailing time (printed in the cruise documents).  Guests arriving after this time will be responsible for taking their bags on board.

Each checked suit case and carry-on suit case should not weigh more than 50 pounds, and when lying flat, bags must not exceed 16 inches high by 24 inches wide (the length of the bag is not a factor). For security screening purposes, all luggage should be unlocked. Oversized luggage and locked luggage may cause delivery delays.

Personalized luggage tags are included in the guest’s Electronic Documents (available once online check-in is completed). It is not necessary to print the tags in color.

Carnival luggage tags must be affixed to your baggage prior to arriving at the terminal.  Additional tags can be obtained at curbside from the porter. Porters will re-tag any luggage tag with a TBA cabin assignment.

Curbside porters are customarily provided a $1 tip per bag.  They are not employees of Carnival and should a guest experiences any problems, they must report it to porter management on site.

Since the screening and movement of large coolers through embarkation is an impediment to the boarding and security screening process, large coolers are not permitted as carry-on or checked luggage. Small, personal-sized coolers, no larger than 12 inches x 12 inches x 12 inches, for the purpose of housing small quantities of non-alcoholic beverages and/or medications are permitted as carry-on luggage.

  5. I'm certainly feeling down..............two cruises cancelled so far and a land trip to Paris.  This was going to be such a year of travel, sigh.  Well, thank God we are not sick, right?  My favorite memory?  Hard to pick one ........sitting on Grand Anse beach in Granada would be one.  Tropical rainforest hike in Costa Rica is way up there.  Sharing a glass of champagne (or two) on our balcony before dinner as we sailed the Mediterrean would be another.  So many happy experiences, can't wait to get back on a ship again!

My guess is that Carnival will do a slow rollout end of May. Starting with Florida, SC, and Texas.Do not think NYC will be ready for sailings before July at the earliest.  I also think Carnival will pull all ships from NYC this season.

I think you could be right.  The HOPE hospital ship will be at the Manhattan pier and today Gov Cuomo was talking about the Brooklyn cruise terminal as a possible emergency hospital site if necessary.  I think cruising out of NY is looking slim.

  7. The Marriott in Isle Verde will sell you a day pass and you have use of the pools, beach, loungers, showers, food & drink, etc.  They will store your luggage till you are ready to go and the airport is only 5 min away.  Last time on the Summit we did a trip to the Bacardi Rum factory through Celebrity.  It was really fun and our luggage went on a separate bus to the airport and was waiting for us when we got there.  Our flight was around 3pm.  Enjoy your cruise and don't waste time sitting in the airport!
