We'll be there next week (10/7/21) and plan on going to Emerald Beach. We were there before the crap hit the fan, but we had a nice day there and enjoyed drinks at the bar. The loungers by the beach decent priced. We're the only ship in port, as far as I can see, so hopefully it won't be too crowded. Anyway, unless someone else answers, I'll update when we get back.

Can you provide any update from your visit in Oct?

  2. Thanks for all the good info guest2000..

Do you happen to have this type of info for cozumel, Belize and grand Cayman as well?

Sent from my SM-G930V using Forums mobile app

Thanks so much for the info on Roatan. We were there in July and Paradise was pretty crowded by lunch time when we arrived. We are looking to try Infinty since it is closer to the snorkeling reef.

I may be able to help with Cozumel.

  3. Can anyone who has done Infinity Beach Resort give me some thoughts on it....whats included, is it less crowded that Paradise etc. It looks like a better choice. If you went there how did you get there, do you do a cab on your own or use the transportation from Infinity?

  4. We docked there in July with Royal and did a private tour with Ronys, we had to walk a couple of blocks outside the port to get to the van. I have to say it is truly 3rd world in that area. I would not plan to walk around on my own, we are going back in Nov and still planning to do something scheduled.

  5. Has anyone done a taxi to Cable Beach and just sat on the public side? The Melia pics all look amazing but we dont want a resort cost and I hear they may not be doing day passes any longer....suggestions are welcome please. We are a family of 5 with 3 sons ages 18, 12, 12. Snorkeling from the beach, would be great, cost of taxi cab fare would also be appreciated.

  6. Just a word of warning to those heading to Tropicante the first time: The place right next door (on left if facing the buildings), El Faro is one of the worst places to go, and they will attempt to entice you into their loungers saying they are connected or same owners--NOT TRUE. So always head inside the white faced building with the blue Tropicante painted on it to let them know you are here. Steve does NOT hire "jaladores" to hawk business.

Facing the buildings from the street or beach? We have never been there and are thinking of trying it.

  7. I've been there a few times. I'd say it's kind of so-so on the vendors. You'll be asked plenty of times to buy trinkets, fake cuban cigars, etc. However after a while, after you've told the same people "no thankyou" several times successively they'll finally give up and quit asking you again each time they walk by. I never noticed any Tropicante staff trying to deter vendors.

    Thanks much

  8. My family of 4 (wife and 2 kids) have always sailed in a Grand Suite for less than $5k for 7 night Caribbean cruises. Try getting that rate with a Next Cruise purchase - you won't get it. I haunt the website and IF I find a deal I pounce. If I don't find a deal we do land based vacations. Will be on HOTS this September again for less than $5k in a GS. When I pass by the Next Cruise desk on my upcoming cruise I will waive my middle finger in the air like Mr. Bean and chuckle at the people who waste their time and treasure in there.

Where do you find the best deal online for GS? Do they normally hold 5 or only 4 guest?

  9. We have 4 adults and 2 kids going from FLL to Sunny Isle hotel for 1 night and then to POM for the Allure. Are there rental agencies near POM to drop a rental car that gives free shuttle to the POM? The cost are nearly the same for Uber all the way compared to a rental vehicle but if we want to do anything in the afternoon/eve from the hotel the Uber costs would be more.

    Suggestions appreciated!

  10. Help- if 1 person in a group of 3 is a no show and we cancel a day before sailing RCCL is telling us the fare for the cancelled guest will be refunded even if after final payment without a penalty as long as the other 2 still cruise. Since there will only be 2 left in the cabin they can make us move to a double cabin.

We REALLY want to keep the cabin we have because its the only one that connects to a D8 cabin that my husband and son are in. We have 4 cabins in a row since we booked so early.

Anyone have any experience with canceling like this? Do they truly make you move to a different cabin at the last minute, can we cancel at the time of checking in and still get a refund?
